Blast from the past...OG members will remember "Maxima Lover"

So I'm browsing 240sxforums, and I watch an out of control cop video linked on google. I can recognize a 4G dash everywhere, and picked it up instantaneously.

For 13 minutes, this kid had his seat mounted video camera taping the whole thing, the cop threatening to make up charges because the kid "gave him attitude".

Here's what you would remember, though. I don't have the search available, but who remembers that guy from St Louis, Missouri who was 18 at the time about 2 years ago, who claimed to have gotten assaulted by an off duty, wasted cop who chased after him after making a uturn? The off duty cop ended up getting out gun drawn when they both pulled into a parking lot, and the maxima kid hit him with a police issue bully stick. Later, that kid got arrested, but a grand jury dropped the charges, and the city paid him to not sue.

He was banned from Maxima.org later on. He also had a story about racing a cop in a Cobalt SS S/c.

So fast forward until now. I just saw this google vid: http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...93977759&hl=en

and at 7:00 minutes in, he describes the same thing that everyone on here thought was a lie, still driving a Maxima it appears.

Please tell me someone remembers these stories? Apparently, trouble seems to follow this guy.

NEVERMIND, I remembered his name after looking in the ban log.

"Maxima Lover"

Sorry for the OT, I just wanted to share with the guys that would know what I was talking about.

I don't recall the original incident, but how crazy is it that this happened to him twice and the second time he managed to capture it on film. I'm not arguing whether it is real or not, I just think the chances are so slim that history repeated itself AND he just happens to video tape it - it almost begs to be questioned for authenticity. Not that I care if it was real or not - it was entertaining. I wanted to hear the 9 things he could have been arrested for lol.

But I still think all he had to do was answer politely and the cop would've gone. Need to show respect to receive respect.

need to show respect to get respect? that **** has nothing to do with this.. so he didn't give much respect, so therefore he should be unfairly vicitimized by a cop that has the authority to do as he wishes? these are the type of jackass police officers that ruin it for all the good ones.

alright, sure, im sure he has to deal with bull**** all day. fine, give a big *** attitude if he wants. but wtf is he doing saying the he is going to find a reason to take that guys *** to jail? he will come up with 9 reasons???

****ing clown is bipolar. hope his *** goes down.

this was luckily caught on tape. but there is a 100% probability that someone has been victimized by a cop, and had no way to fight it or prove it.

edit: denying the antecdent... invalid logic..

^ The clicking was his radar detector... I have a Beltronics 920 Express and it sounds the exact same when it detects Ka band radar.

I don't have the search function, but I wonder why he got banned.
Because people didn't believe his seemingly farfetched encounters with the officiers? If so I guess this indirectly proved that his past claims were possibly true.

I disagree completely. Putting on a uniform does NOT warrent respect. Respect is something earned, not given. An officer should know better. An officer is by proclomation a gentlemen, however, this jackass probably tortured animals as a kid and wants puts on a uniform everday to strap a pistol to his hip and walk around like he's better than everyone else. Police are civil servants. It is a position of servitude. I happen to know and respect a number of REAL officers who treat every single encounter they have with the public politely, respectfully, and without attitude. They arrest people when it is called for, but try to avoid doing so if at all possible. Some cops these days just love to hassle people because they can. This idiot is obviously one of them. He shouldn't have a badge, and this video is making me consider having a camera in my car at all times as well.

On a side note, I had a similar experience. I went to spring weekend at UConn two years ago. It is a very large event and very heavily patrolled by police. While I was there, a bit of an argument strung up between one of my buddies and some random guy. I walked over to see what the problem was and the random guy back-peddled into me. Apparently, he thought this was an attack on him and he turned around and punched me. I forcefully pushed him away from me (he was about 160 lbs), and he hit a tree about 6 feet from where we were standing. Then he got up and ran away. While I thought it was because he came to his senses, I learned quickly he was running from the police running up to us. To my surprise, three officers tackled me and not a single one went for him. I was arrested on charges of breech of peace. While being escorted to the transport car, this scruffy little 160lb cop kept poking me, sneering at me about "picking on the little guys", and "I should know better". Then he grabbed my arm while I was walking and tried to push me, but being about 65 lbs smaller than me, didn't have much influence. So he bellowed at me to "stop resisting". I wanted to punch that little jerk.

Fortunately for me, the little jerk was also stupid, as he told the detective at the police station about the UConn student that had "struck" me, and I reacted violently. This little detail made it into the police report, which led to my immediate dismissal in court. I had learned shortly afterword that the state was bragging about an 85% decrease in arrests of UConn students. The state issued a report about how all the trouble caused on spring weekend was from outsiders coming to the campus, and how UConn students shouldn't be blamed for the troubles of the event. Funny that this report came about right at the same time that the school mandated all students where blue wristbands and all guests where orange in order to attend. Part of me feels that the reason I was arrested and the the assaulter was not is because I had an orange band and his was blue. It makes a better political statement for the state.

There's another video of him getting harassed at a DWI checkpoint, where he responded very politely to an officer who asked him where he was going/coming from. He said "Sir, I do not wish to discuss my personal life with you". Which is within his rights to say so. He was stopped for 20 minutes before they let him go, and although the video you can't hear anything really well, there's a transcript of the incident that a local newspaper deciphered.

That's why I decided to come back and say something about it. I didn't really find that vid though, it was on 240sxforums from a member from the STL area, and had posted it up simply to have people watch it and make it a popular video on google so it would get some national news time, which apparently it did.

You have no idea though, I was just watching it, immediately noticed it was a 4G dash, and then it blew my mind when I heard what he said 7:00 minutes in. Maxima Lover had been found 2 years later. The news articles linked to the vids also describe the intoxicated, off duty officer event as well.

Glad all of the officers I've ever dealt with have been reasonable, if not very nice.

edit....UCONN spring weekend...fun stuff. I've been down for the past 2 years.

Did maxima.org get hacked or soemthing?

I immediatley recognized it was the same kid from the DUI checkpoint video. Both times he is well within his rights to say that he doesn't want to discuss his personal life with the police officer, it's what the 5th amendment is. Therefor the officer has no right to openly begin to threated him because he is using his right.

However I still question the authenticity of this becuase it has happened twice with the same kid. I'm sure one of the mods could help us in our search.

Look at the news articles. By now, these 2 videos of the dwi checkpoint, and the commuter lot incident happened when he was 19 and 20, or at anywhere from a few months to 2 years apart. It was two different cops, and two different areas I believe. The first vid I posted of him in the commuter lot with the cop was in a town that had two cops, and one stretch of road to really patrol, and were court is held in some guy's basement (from what I'm told from an STL local who posted the vid on 240sxforums).

As for authenticity, the cop in the commuter lot has been suspended without pay. There are also news articles regarding these vids that are linked to the details of the videos.

That guy was a douche and was banned for his general dumbassery... Racing and beating a cop in a Cobalt SS one day sleeping in the park and logging onto the org from the library the next. Some of his threads were along the lines of "How do I rig my trunk to keep cops out", "Is it ok to go 145mph on tires rated for 130mph", "Here's a pic of me doing 70 around a 25mph curve where my dad just totaled his car" etc, etc...

I know all the IMV guys. There is some footage of me and my car (Z) in the "Vehicular Lunatics" movie.

Most officers I have talked to have been very polite.

But I had two bad run ins with cops.

First time I had a old lady dart from the right lane to right in front of me on her left lane, she slammed her brakes and i hit her with my chevy prizm.(She drove a GMC Jimmy.) An older cop happened to come up the hill, he cited me for careless driving after I tried to explain to him that she just didn't give a signal, pulled out into my lane and immedialy slammed her brakes. He said that he didn't care. My insurance company looked into it and saw that the lady was in multiple accidents with the same description, they determined that it may have been insurance fraud and hired a Private Investigator. The lady finally admitted that she was trying to get insurance money. Then P.I. then found out that the cop was a relative that was assisting her in getting her money. He was fired and past that I don't know what happened to him. I don't know what happened to the lady either. I thought that it was nice of m insurance company(State Farm) to hire a P.I. but I think they did it because they didn't want to pay for both cars being repaired lol.

Second encounter, I was still in my Chevy Prizm. I was accelerating at a green light, not speeding, when this guy in a Chevy Impala who was driving in a turn lane trying to pass me turned on his police lights. I was going exactly 45. He pulled me over and said "next time you decide to be an ***, remember it may be a cop." and showed me his badge, I apologized then immediatly called my dad, who called the police department and got on the phone with the cops superior. The superior was very mad about the cop doing that.(He had done it before but his boss let him off the hook, but not this time he said.) He said that he would be punished, the next week we got a letter from him apologizing for his officer pulling me over "without probable cause." It stated that he got a cut in pay and was to be suspended without pay for 5 days without pay.(Ouch.)

The funny thing was that when my dad was put on the line with that officer, my dad completely went off saying "if you'd have to speed then don't try to pass my son ***!" He notified the officer that he would be punished and said "next time you decide to be an ***, remember that it may be my son."

I don't remember many of his threads, except for the wasted cop story and the Cobalt SS cop race. Maybe the others happened in off topic that I am not able to access, or I just didn't pay attention to those questions in the 4G section. Either way, we know one story is true.

regardless of what kind of person this guy is, he stopped a bad thing from getting worse. ill-intended cops should not have a place in law enforcement.

Damn, that was the same kid?

Sounds like walking trouble.

That cop was a total *******, but the kid had a snotty *** attitude. But I'm guilty of talking back like that to a cop before, though without consequence. The cop was absurdly in the wrong and he knew it.

Basically:

Brett (maxima lover) has taken it upon himself to become a "mystery shopper" for the police force. He turns on his camera, most likely with the data being sent and recorded to a system in his trunk, and drives around until he gets bothered somehow. But he himself is being a bit of a twatwaffle and in general comes off as having a snotty attitude. Police investigate things--it's what they do, and the price we have to pay for their upholding the law is putting up with mild inconvenience. He was totally uncooperative and unfriendly in every way, however all the while breaking no laws and staying within his rights.

Fortunately for him, this time the cop was waay out of line, starting to scream at him, threatening him with false accusations, etc. He knew he was screwed when he mentioned the camera, and you've gotta love how the media from that night on the officer's end is somehow lost.

No one's really innocent here, but that cop deserves to be put away.

Saw it. The cop's f'd up but he gave him what he deserved for being an ****.

Haha, I found it funny that he kept on testing the cop, but once the cop threatened, he backed down like a little girl. Stupid.

If you were on the receiving side of screaming by a man with a lot of power, a temper and a gun you would probably act similar... as for the testing, he was pretty obviously prodding the guy for the camera.
