well i am in the process of buying this car from my uncle but since he is away from the country sailing around with greenpeace he told me to put my insurance and drive it around until i buy it or something else. I AM DEFINATELY BUYING THIS CAR. this is my 1st 4th gen and 1st 5spd. so far i've raced 3 times. 1 dodge dakota 5.8 liter r/t that was lowered and had duals, 1 95 - 99 eagle talon gs 5spd (stock), and my buddy's modded vw golf gti 5spd hatchback w/intake, plugs, exhaust, rims etc etc.

1st race, i lined up with the dakota not meaning to race him but he kept inching on the stop light and when it turned green he floored it exhaust wailing and tires spinning like all hell so i say f*ck it and dropp the clutch and floor it. i thought those things were fast??? anyways i beat him by at least 5 car lentghs all the way through 3rd. btw for all u skeptics, it was and automatic and YES he was racing. (i also notcied his middle finger as i passed by

2nd race, i'll make this one short, chic thought her talon was fast, chic floored it so i floored it, i said bye bye to chic

3rd race, theres a place close to my house we call the lake city flats. its by an ammunition plant. anyways me and my buddy lined up and we were off. i pulled inch by inch though 1st and 2nd then we stayed even through 3rd, when i hit 4th and 5th he was probably 3 cars behind me and i shut it down at 125. that was the closest race, his car is pretty quick, btw he had only a quarter tank of gas and mine was a little more than 3/4 full.

fun fun fun! i'm never going back to an automatic i SWEAR!!!!!

5spd is certainly the more fun version to drive.
Good races...I am surprised you did so well agianst the Dakota...I thought that those things were supposed to be quick too.

yeah no ****, i thought that truck was gonna smoke me but he didn't and that even made me a skeptic so i went to caranddriver.com and the stats for the 5.9 liter dodge dakota r/t 5spd are 7.3 and 15.8 so its slower than the max and plus this one was an automatic. anyhoo at least his exhaust sounded good right?

dodge dakota 5.8 liter r/t?? What the heck is that. They are 5.9L, and if moded, very fast. A co-worker of mine has a black one with true dual with flowmaster, fiber glass bed cover with the little daytona type spoiler, intake and headers. The bigest problem with the truck is traction, thus the spinning tires. It has gobs of low end, but as most trucks is to light in the rear.

obviously u didn't read my last post because i corrected my self and said it was a 5.9 liter. i'm sure if they're modded they can be fast, but this one wasn't and i whooped his a$$ . but i will say one thing, he left an a$$ load of rubber!
