I awoke this morning to my dismay to find red gum on the back of the left side of my car. Its all stung out over a decent area, and I need to get it off. I dont know how the hell this would happen since i wasnt chewing gum while driving, but i need to get it off. Whats an easy way to remove it without taking the paint along with it?>Thanks

Try Ice

If you rub it with ice cubes, it will freeze the gum, at which point you can peel it off. It will come off in little pills, just keep at it, and it will all come up, and it will not damage or mark your seat like some solvents will. Just a little Martha Stewart action for you.

Let me know how it works.

Someone did this to my car while I was at school. All you have to do is give it a good washing, but you kinda have to rub hard. I also used Meguiars Quick Detail and it got the pieces off that the washing didn't. Good luck, it will come off, just wash it.

Look for a product called Goo Gone. Works great for sticky stuff and those unwanted chrome dealership badges on the back of your car. Paint-safe. You can also try heating it up with a hair dryer to get the worst off, then hit it with Quick Detailer.

a little bit of wd40 works for me

I spray a little bit of wd-40 on a paper towel and lightly rub the gum out. The stuff disolves the gum. Then you clean it up with soap.

An alternative is to use an air duster and turn it upside down.
