How to tint trunk emblems?
I'm trying to figure out how to give my trunk emblem that "gunmetal" look I've seen on so many Maximas.. I was thinking about just applying a coat of Niteshades, but wasn't sure what that would do to the gloss of the emblem (I've noticed Niteshades is matte).
Does anybody have any suggestions? Thanks

Look for... Duplicolor: Metalcast (Smoke)
This paint is transparent usually used to achieve an adonized metal look.
Scuff up the chrome emblem with 1000 grit sand paper.
Lightly spray a coat or 2.
Top off with a clear coat.
Make sure it is compatible with Metalcast though. I believe Duplicolor: Car Truck, Van (Clear) will work. Unsure at the moment though.
Best of luck to ya!

Go to a store that sells Duplicolor paint. Preferably an auto parts store since they usually carry that stuff.

Spray tint works just as well if not better than what I posted. But it's harder to find and usually a bit more expensive than a $5 can of Duplicolor so I hope this helps some of you guys.
Awesome job on the emblems!
aporozco could you post daylight pics also?
Really like the VQ35 one that looks awesome!

What color/Dupilocolor paint would ya'll recommend on a dark green with yellow flake paint job? I want to repaint my MAXIMA because the original paint is coming off and I don't like the color of it anyways. Any suggestions?
Edit: Hard to see the flakes on the picture because the color changes depending on sunlight, gold shows only when really sunny outside. Its the OEM Evergreen Metallic paint.
