Viper alarm and remote start

Viper alarm and remote start
I've had a Viper unit installed for about 4 years now and everything was working great. Recently, I saw that my controller wasn't working and the light looked sorta dim so I replaced the battery in the remote. However, after replacing it, none of the buttons seemed to trigger anything. The light is bright on the remote, and i think that the codes may have been lost (if that's possible). Can anyone give me any tips on what to do next? I wouldn't mind paying for it if it's reasonable, (under 40$). I doubt it matters, but I have a 1999 max.
TIA.

This could potentially be moved to the A/V section... First off, where did you have the alarm installed? If it was some place like Circuit City or Best Buy, their work is guaranteed for as long as you own the car, so I'd take it back to the installer. Popping out the battery shouldn't erase the remote's memory of the unit it's "linked" with, IMO.

Yikes lol lot to type out. Hope it works for you, but sounds like the remote might need to be replaced.
Note: The transmitter learn routine will only work if it hasn't been locked using Bitwriter. If it has been locked you will hear a long honk, and you can't proceed unless it is unlocked using Bitwriter.
1: Open Door
2: Ignition - Turn to ON position
3: Within 10 seconds press and release Program switch (black button not to be confused with transmitter/remote) 1 time to enable "Auto Learn Standard Configuration (default)" After this press one more time and HOLD. LED will flash and horn will honk to confirm selected channel. Do NOT release program switch.
4: Transmit while HOLDING program switch. Press button on remote to control selected receiver channel. Unit will chirp to confirm code has been successfully programed.
For step 3: Pressing the program switch a specific number of times will do...
1x- Auto Learn Standard Config.
2x- Arm Only
3x- Disarm Only
4x- Silent Mode/Remote Valet/Trunk Release
5x- Remote Start
6x- Channel 4
7x- Channel 5
8x- Channel 6
9x- Short Run/Turbo
10x- Timer Mode
11x- Arm/Disarm/Panic
12x- Panic Only
13x- Defogger Control
14x- Delete All Transmitters
