timing.... what else?

So I'm about to go into my motor and do some timing work. What are some things that should be considered to do while I'm in there. I'm thinking about taking the heads and getting them cleaned up real good and make sure I don't need any new valves or whatnot. Some imput would be appreciated.

i dont know much about head work. but wouldnt you be able to tell if you needed new valves just by listening to them? i guess im saying is wouldnt it be obvious if you were in need of a new valve ect ect

is your timing off hence you need to go in?

Highly double you'll need new valves unless you bend your current ones.

What are you plans? there are a lot of variations you can do depending on your desires. While the heads are off and if your going to take them to be cleaned, new valve seals would be good. You could go with new valve springs if your interesting in increasing your rev limit.

I would like to supercharge it someday but honestly probably never will. I figured I would get the springs and seals replaced. I don't think I'll need new valves. But I want a little more power after the install. probably an underdrive pulley, new intake, and exhaust. nothing major. I already cleaned the intake mani, plenum, and TB out really good. probably a good thing to do while it was out. It went from dark brown to shiny silver.

Should I replace the head bolts with new ones or just use the same ones?

My spark plugs are about 6-7 months old. NGK iridiums. Do I need to put new ones in upon install?

Valve springs & valve seals?

Why would you think that you did in the first place?

You want more power from a I/E/P? You will get more power from those, if done correctly, most namely, the I&E. Maybe add I/H/E. What's your budget?

Nice observation.

What are your plans? If you removed them, better repalce them, even if they are just OEM, again, depending on your plans.

Install of what? I/E/P? How many miles? Ir's last for quite a while, so I would say no.

Why are you posting in this section again? Because you think you want to supercharge it, but aren't sure, and probably never will?

Why would you move this out of the "All Motor" section?
I'm asking questions about internal engine work. Not superchargers. And if I'm not mistaken.... the definition of this section says to talk about "internal engine work" under the title.
If I had questions about Superchargers I would read the stickies then post in the "Supercharger" section if I couldn't find my answer.
All this forum needs is another douchebag like you to make people with actual questions want to stop posting. I thought the point of asking questions on this forum was to get help from other Maxima owners. You supporters are hot heads and talk down to any body on the forums that hasn't donated yet. So next time you get the urge to start being a douche to people. DONT

and what do you mean "posting again" I have never made a post in this section to my memory?

I moved it. If you don't like it, tough. If your going to post in the All Motor section, post a motor related question that makes sense. 'I want to do timing work' is a VERY vague request, and you never elaborated on it. What sort of internal 'timing' work do you think you can do? You OBVIOUSLY did ZERO research, therefore I moved your thread. :

never said I wanted to do timing work. I am doing timing work. I took my car by a friend of mines shop to get an opinion and he said it was the timing chain. So that is a for sure thing. Not much research needed there.
I was askng questions about other things i could do while I was in there. if you would've read a little better, you may have picked up on that.
HERE IS MY QUESTION.......
Whatare some things that I should do while I'm inside the engine.
(cleaning, replacing, servicing, etc...)?

That is a general question, still not an advanced forum topic.

I can read just fine, thank you very much. You just suck at explaining things.

1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, or 7th gen Maxima?

If it is a 4th - 6th gen, this would be my take:

VQ35DE
L32 VQ35 Pistons LIM & UIM
HR heads / valve springs / retainers and an extra set of shims
Tomei 282's
Nismo 55º VTC's
UTEC + V-manage

And all other common related items that we all know about. (I/H/E/MAF/WB)

If it is a 4th gen, you will need either an A33B or A34 ECU, in the case of the A34, no one has used it in an A32B or A33B VQ35DE application as of yet.
