I believe its 60,000 miles. Look in your owners manual to be sure.

better off w/ 3 yrs/36k miles. It's a cheap part and it's not too hard to replace. Clean fuel will extend the life of your injectors

I change mine once a year, right after they stop making me buy oxygenated gas. I'm pretty sure that stuff fouls the filter at 3 times the normal rate.

Do you change it yourself??

If so, HOW DO YOU GET TO IT??? I can see the filter against the firewall, but can't for the life of me figure out how to get to it and remove it. I've done the sparkplugs, and PCV valve, but the fuel filter scares me. Any step by step instructions out there? I've got 71k on my '98...50k+ are mine since I bought it last year...I know for a fact that it hasn't been replaced before.

There isn't any easy way to do it. I have bled every time. The only advice I have is to make sure there is no fuel pressure (can't remember how that's done right now) and push, don't pull, the hoses off the filter.

Replace every 15to 20 kmiles

To release a fuel pressure:
1. Take away the fuel pump fuse
2. Start the engine and wait until it stops
3. Turn out ignition key and wait for 10 seconds
4. Try to start the engine again 2 times.
5. If it wouldn't start absolutely, there is no fuel pressure.
Be careful with gas in the engine compartment,
Good luck,
DDD

I also remove the fuel tank filler cap. Also WEAR GOGGLES or eye safety equipment!!!

The fuel lines can be tough to pull off. Just wiggle and turn the lines as you pull... they'll come off eventually.

get a genuine Nissan one. Don't skimp out for a generic unit. They'll cost around $10-12
