First one was a 1996 GLE, Nicest car I owned then. Its still in the family as it when to my daughter.
2nd was a new 2001, to replace the 1996 my daughter was taking to school. It lost the battle on US 19 in Clearwater FL. No one hurt. Didn't like this one very much and the accident was not my son's fault so it was easy to replace it with a 2002.
3rd The 2002 has been one of the best cars i've ever had. And now its time to pass it on to my daughter and retire the 1996.
4th, the 2010 loaded SV. So many gadgets in it, its taking a lot of getting to know and trust it.
The 1996 has a great look to it, and the green paint that sometimes looks black has remained a favorite. The 2002, is not much on style, but its easy and comfortable to drive. My son drove it to Indiana and back a few christmas's ago 15 hrs straight, you just don't get tired driving it.
2010, Dark Slate, back to a classy looking car with the humps and curves. Still to new to compare it to the 1996 or the 2002. I don't know was about the 2001, but it just was not as nice as the 1996 and not even near to the comfort and driveability of the 2002.

Had a 3rd gen, and it started dying around 350K, so instead of dumping a bunch more money into it, only to have more stuff go wrong, I just decided it was time to buy a new car for the family...
So I looked around some dealers, started making some calls, and I came across a certain dealer...told the woman what i was looking for in a car {wasn't looking for a max specifically}, and she asked me if I'd consider an 02 Max...I think I owned my car like an hour later, best purchase ever...
