Holy rant, stop fretting and race already...... Me, i'd throw down the dough and shove it in his face after i crush him, (if i did have your Max). Put him in his place and BLAST that Legend! (If he has a hot sister and you don't want her, you can always pass her to me, i'll show her the time of her life )

I'm gonna stop becuase i'm sounding like an elder here, but just be careful. I personally would never race at those speeds on a public highway.

As far as the limiter comment he made, well...
That just proves he's not worthy competition anyway cause he doesn't know what he's talking about. Be safe, people like that are crazy.

Re: its up to you
i've done 135 and could have kept going eighteen wheeler pulled out in front. why is it that all acura drivers are so hyped about their cars. Ok, they are nice, but there still honduhs and are in my opinion at the same class as maximas, and infinities. they are what they are, why are the drivers trying to make it something more, i seem to see that all the time. anyway, i heard about the 6 speed, but this guys got an auto and its old, also i'm sure the guys been beating on it if he even has the thought of his car doing 160.
whatever, i probably don't know what i'm talking about, lol

whatever... i still think acura drivers are waaay too hyped on their cars, yes, max. drivers are also, but because......we have a better car! lol nah, i'm just saying i've haven't met too many people who are modest about their acura, most are cocky as hell.

Risk outweighs the reward
Let's just say that it would actually be a waste of time plus the fact the it's way too risky. For one, I know Bri to be too level headed to take this ******* on because the risk outweighs the rewards.
If Bri is caught street racing in IL, he stands to face a minimum $1000 fine, possible jail time, and an automatic revocation of his license.
Taken from the Illinois Rules of the Road
“Revocation" means that your driving privileges have been taken away indefinitely by the Secretary of State’s office. To regain your driving privileges, you may be eligible to reapply for your license after a minimum of one year, unless otherwise noted.
Revocation of your license is a very serious matter. Your driver’s license will be revoked if you are convicted of the following offenses:
RECKLESS HOMICIDE: You drove recklessly, resulting in the death of another person. (minimum two-year revocation)
DUI: You drove under the influence of alcohol, other drugs and/or intoxicating compounds.
A FELONY OFFENSE: A vehicle was used while you committed a serious crime.
LEAVING THE SCENE: You left the scene of a crash that killed or injured someone. (minimum three-year revocation)
PERJURY: You gave false information to the Secretary of State.
RECKLESS DRIVING: You were convicted of three reckless driving offenses in 12 months.
DRAG RACING: You illegally raced with another vehicle.
RECKLESS CONDUCT: Your reckless behavior involving a vehicle resulted in injury or danger to another person.
AUTO THEFT: You stole a motor vehicle or motor vehicle parts.
AGGRAVATED FLEEING THE POLICE: You drove away from the police when you were directed to stop.
The Secretary of State’s office has the authority to revoke the driver’s license of a repeat traffic offender. During the course of any revocation, your vehicle registration may be suspended. Notice is given accordingly.
Plus the area he is planning to run in can have a decent number of troopers over there at any given time.

finally got to push my Legend not too long ago, I'm usually a safe driver, went out to the desert with some friends, made sure everything was clear. I don't think i'll ever go that fast again (it's pretty tiring actually, heart starts racing!)
Anyways talking to many Legend users we concluded that:
144-150mph by TypeI users
149-155mph by TypeII users
Traction Control Off, just me in the car. I have a 94 TypeII Automatic, max speed i reached was 152mph... car was still accelerating but not a lot. Car has a good amount of pull 90-138mph...very smooth getting up there, then it declines sharply accel wise.. and crawls up after that. With more room, and confidence, car would have probably topped out probably at 156 or so I think. There's a 3% margin of error, which would mean it can be off by 4-5mph, not sure if that's true for all cars.
I will never go that fast again though, just wanted to see what it could do.

Here's what to do...
Bri,
This guy sounds stupid. Stupid equals dangerous in a lot of cases to me. I think you're playing it smart for now.
Tell him if he's so anxious to throw down for $100, then why not do it right? Tell him he's on, that you'll smoke him like a cheap cigar, but none of this "No Rules" b.s... Race him for pinks...
If he's so damn confident in his car, he should be up for it. "No Rules" is for ametuers.
From a standstill, one mile down the road. Whoever gets there first, wins.
If he's not cool with that, then blow him off. It sounds like he wants to play NASCAR by running for 2-4 miles. Whatever.

Okay Brian, it's been 4 months... You seen the A$$-Talker lately or what? BTW, see if the cocky, autotragic driver will bump it up to like $300 or something, this takes care of several things:
1) He'll back out if he's smart
2) If he doesn't, you can ask to see what he's running w/o getting criticized
3) When you win, you'll be able to buy something decent.
Besides, anything over a mile and a half is just a waste of time. Usually a mile will get a car like ours to around 80% or so of our top speed. If it's a 4mi. top speed run he wants, tell him to go to the Bonneville Salt Flats or Black Rock Lake and FAR away from you.
Hey Future X, did you just do a search for "Legend" or something to dig up this thread? Not that I've never done that in say... a Mustang forum or anything (though I search for "Maxima"), I was just curious how you came across a thread that died last December.
