1. I have that whining noise..kinda cool hehe

2. There is a tube that connects to the recirculation valve..that one isn't necessary..just plug that hole up. There is another hose..but it connects to something..I don't know what it is called. On mine, I plugged up the top hole.

3. I don't know about this one. I had someone else do it for me.

Hope this helps hehe...

Can anyone post a sound file...

I'm curious as to exactly how loud the SC is...Any WAV./ RA / etc. files out there that could give an example?

You're welcome.... we went to Home Depot looking for a black rubber stopper, but we couldn't find one. So, I just settled on those rubber stoppers for the tub (you know the ones that you use to plug up the bathtub). It fits perfectly, but I will change it this weekend to the black stopper that I want (I was too excited about getting the BOV back to wait until this weekend).

I can show you when you come pickup your stuff.

The V1 is loud there's no getting around that unless you get that dynamat hoodliner stuff. There's two holes on the filter itself you need to plug up you just need to get a bypass cap and hose fastners. You need to get a crankcase filter (small looking K&N filter) if you plan on getting rid of the hose that routes to the rocker cover. For the boost meter you'd have to tap into the vacumn lines that come from the FMU and Blitz BOV.

i have the newer gen v1 (alot quieter than older v1), here is a sound clip where you can slightly hear the whine of the sc but its actually more of the bov. i don't have my md player with me right now so i'll get you a better one this weekend if you want.

That 'bad-bearing squeal' is normal for the Vortec V1 blower. There are quiet V1's like Matt's but the V2 are much quieter by design.

I'm leaving all my ugly hoses in place until I get a CAI, Blitz BOV, etc. This is how the kit was designed to be installed and Loren has told me that this is best when using the stock BOV. The vent hose coming from the valve cover can be re-routed but I haven't really looked into it yet.

My V1 is as quiet as a V2. The last of the V1's were quiet.

I heard and early V1 and could not believe how loud it is compared to mine.

Matt from PA got a quiet one to. I was at Autogear when they installed it and it was so quiet, I thought it was a V2! I wonder if Vortec blurred the lines a little between the V1 and V2. The difference in noise is huge!

Vic, I know the noise varies GREATLY from unit to unit with the V1's and it is an odd noise. I doubt that something is wrong with it but if it really bothers you talk to the guy who installed it and see what he thinks.

It could be that your just used to your car being smooth and refined and now this gawddam squeal is always there. It does take some getting used to but it won't be long until you absolutely love that squeal and the singing/ringing noise as it spools up over 3500 rpms.

There is no difference in the pedal pressure at any rpm in my car. This IMO should not have been affected by the SC install.
