The paint job on my 96 Max is pretty bad! It scratches very, very easily....now I have tons of little scratches everywhere. Does anyone else have this problem? How much would it/did it cost you to repaint your car? I'm thinkin I just might repaint it.

Only $900 for your whole car ??

I always thought it was around $2500-3000.What type of paint job did you get for $900? what I mean is was it painted by Nissan or a quality local painshop or a lousy paint shop.Does the paint look as good as when the car was new or is not very reflective and shiny. The paint job looks good in the pics but then again you can't really tell unless you see it in person. Thanks for your info peace.

Absolutely bad factory painting

Mine is a 99 with only 16,000 miles on it. The front looks like it has been used for desert storm.

After a car wash today, my wife remarked, "What's up with all other white spots (scratches) on the hood?"

SAD!

Hmmm.. may be I shall repaint it with the new "FLEX" or Chromaflair paint. The pigment is by Flex Products, Inc. anyway. (100% owned by OCLI which is now own by JDS Uniphase... DAMN IT!)

heh..well 2K's paint didnt get

any better...my Gray Lustre SE with only 4K on it is sporting some freckles already....got some chips on the hood and bumper...I'm not sure what kind of silly putty material is used on the bumper covers and the door guard pieces but it is horrible!! Seems like any little rock that hits it resembles a meteor hitting! And the door guards....if another cars door just taps it, it leaves a nice gouge...yuck

But what the hell the engine is good.....

Ya, I guess I may repaint it soon, it's just horrible. Should I use Nissan factory paint(hopefully there is a better brand)? You guys know a good place/person in the DC/MD/VA area you can do it? What prices should I expect? Thanks guys.

Both of the Nissan's I have owned had lousy paint.
Nissan paid to repaint my wife's 1990 Sentra after the first year. It oxidized and faded within 2 years after that. I called it number 11 for the two stripes across the roof.

The new Maxima already has 3 chips. One on the hood and two on the right side.

Of course the paint job on my Protege only lasted 2 years before the clearcoat disappeared.

Hey Maxrod,
Since you are living in the DC/VA/MD region, I would highly recommend MR.SPOILER. They are awesome!! They are located in Manassas Virginia. Ask for Dan.
