Got a rubber antenna...now problems...

Got a rubber antenna...now problems...
Firstly, is there any page that tells me how to install this? Secondly, would any universal rubber antenna work or did I need to buy a specific one (because our antenna base is slanted). I just bought a $8 Advanced Auto Parts antenna, but it looks difficult to install and if it is I'll just give the antenna to my friend.
Thanks in advance,
Cyrus

Re: Got a rubber antenna...now problems...
The only hard part is finding the cable that goes to the antenna. If you have the C&C package with the motorized antenna, the actual antenna assembly has a couple of wire harnesses. You just can't do away with the unit. Life is much easier if you are just replacing a stock fixed mast unit as the wire should be evident. In any case, aftermarket antennas can be mounted at almost any angle. There is a part that goes under the sheet metal that is adjustable and just needs to be fastened tight at whatever angle you want.

Bummer, hope your friend has better luck.
I was going to ask if the diversity antenna might be a problem (or do you have aftermarket already)?
