Vq40 throttle body and maf on my vq30

I know some guys used the 01/02 Pathfinder TB on the 4th gens with 3.0s. This will give some good gains - but I do know that swapping a TB isn't just as simple as it sounds. On the 3.5 in my 02, I swapped to a 75mm TB and it required that I readjust the IACV with an OBD2. I also know swapping a MAF on the 3.5 requires a tune if you swap in larger. Not sure about the 3.0.

I read the rest of this article. I wouldn't say his claims are all that great.

Sounds like a croc to me.
VQ40’s are TBW, VQ30’s aren’t, that would be doable by converting the TB to be cable driven. The MAF would also require some extensive programming. Easier just to bore an OEM unit or build your own larger diameter unit and use a MAF scaler like an SAFC to do that.
Also, all we have is the crank pulley, all the others (UDP set) don't take up much power and no one actually has made a "Set" just the UDP for the crank.

Someone was making PFTB adapter plates not too long ago since Stephenmax stopped doing so. Check the AM forum, lotsa info in there I'm sure.

Ok so one thing I don't understand about the pathfinder tb write up is he says he flipped around his tips sensor and he said all this stuff about repositioning the tps a lot but never explains needing to set the tps after messing with it really the tps should never be moved not even a millimeter cause if it moves that much it needs readjusted when I barley touched mine I had to take the car to a mechanic to adjust it because it was to hard with my multimeter and I'm pretty savvy with cars it'll make your car shift all messed up and these cars have really really touchy tps sensors

The throttle blade has two shafts that can turn the TPS. So yes you can spin the TPS around 180* and have it still work, as I have done so on both my 00vi and 3.5 swaps when I was using a Pathfinder TB.

oh? Ok my bad lol well thank you guys so much for all the info after looking for over two years on ways to tune my vq30de-k I realize that it may literally be easier for me to just buy a ls Chevy motor throw it in have my buddy fab and weld up a drive shaft housing well and link it all up lol I wonder if that's at all possible for under 7k I'm just hating the garage mechanic mods and headaches ls FTW! Lol don't get it twisted though I want my maxima forever!!!!

People won't spoon you info here. Even when knowledgeable people come here to ask questions they get treated like idiots. If you can't spend the time to read the info about these mods then it isn't worth it for you. But if you do put in the time, you can get power out if it. Once you open up the intake and exhaust you need to rev it higher to get the "most" out of it. 2000-2001 maxima 3.0 vq30De-k variable intake manifold aka the black plastic one. Headers, ypipe, 3" catback. Biggest filter you can fit on the maf. Then some way to control the chAnges you've made; emu etc. Here's some inspiration
