The car can have 2 different radios in it. If the car has a Bose radio, those speakers are different than the speakers on the non-Bose radio. So you have to get speakers for the type of radio you have. The GLE had the Bose radio as standard equipment but in the SE, the Bose was optional .

The 1995 to 1999 Maximas speakers used the same radios, so you don't have to stay with the same year car.
