CAN anyone tell me HOW to change the starter...
#2
Changing a starter is not to bad:I am on my 2nd starter.
things to remove:
(1) disconnect battery terminals and take the battery out.
(2) remove stock intake system. This will give you more room to operate. remember how every comes off so that when you put it back on you will remember
(3) After removing the stock intake you will see the starter motor more clearly
(4) remove the starter motor relay which runs from the postive battery terminal.
(5) There are 2 bolts holding the starter motor to the engine. There are 2 different sizes.
(6) After removing the 2 bolts the starter slides right out.
(7) slide the new or remanufactured starter in put the two bolts in
(8) reconnect the starter motor relay. don't over torque or you will brake.
(9) put back in intake system and reconnect the battery
My chilton manual gave a poor description in trying to figure out taking out the starter. But good luck
