01' civic type(Wings West G5 Series Body Kit)

Looks almost like the style except the extra layer on the sides, and the bigger outer curve on the front lip

Also there is a different wing on there just like Simon(sycefiro)
(Wings West MM Commando Wing)

How about this rear valance

In light of the overwhelming support for the Skyline kit thus far, I think we should stick with that until it's fruition... or something.

Hey guys,
Just checking in on the progress,
I'm going to read that other bodykit thread right now. Sorry I haven't been around or answering emails, it was my mom's birthday yesterday and I'm out near Ottawa visiting them. I'll be back home tonight working though.

Cool, I definantly like where this thread is going. I think it would be cool to have a few more options out there.

i agree...cept i dont really like stealin's simple sides, the rear is ok, but the pics maximazero has of the skyline rear [i think] are 37864543x better than stealin's rear...my opinion of course

you could rewire the corner/ clearance lamps to blink or integrate a sidemarker on the kit

Have we come to a decision then?

Let me know guys....this can start in production very soon. Bad news though, the price will have to be $750. My costs went up, as well as shipping costs. Let me know if everyone is ok with that.

Hey Zero is that the R33 front on the 4th gen? I think the 33 would look good on the 4th gen and the R34 would look good on the 5th gen.

Ok idont feel like reading this whole post, so maybe you should start some new threads with pictures and info on specific gen body kits. I am kind of sick of 100 peole saying they are making body kits and cheap bolt on turbos for our cars. I havent seen results yet (The one turbo kit that made it is NOT cheap!)

The turbo kit is cheap. There's a difference between good cheap, and ghetto. Do you really want a "cheap" turbo kit? Or a good value? It's cheaper than the SC, so what are you complaining about? And here's the thing, all the people posting about body kits, can and will make them. The market is what's slowing us down. If Maxima owners could come to a consensus about anything, then it would be done. Look at this thread, like 20 different styles are being proposed. ONE STYLE has to be picked before he can start anything.

You're getting sick of broken promises, so am I. I'm sick of the hundreds of people that have emailed me about wanting to get stuff made, and then promising I'd sell so much of it. Then when I've gone to a lot of trouble to get everything ready, they can't ever seem to find the buyers.

If we get a R33 that looks clean not rigged up I'm Down. Need bigger intercooler now. Remember we're a little picky here and good fitment is a must.

Thanks Zero.

Good luck with the fitment issue. The more I get into this business, the more I realize that there practically are no good fitting body kits. Other than Wings West, Xenon, Kaminari, Ground Designs 2000, and some of the more established businesses, most body kits simply don't fit that well. What I thought was an anomaly with the Sarona seems to be the standard. After selling a ton of kits from several different manufacturers, the complaints are all the same. The mounting points don't line up, the bumpers have to be heated up and reworked, stuff is warped, and so on. It's always only maybe 1/2" off, but that's all you need to go from a good fit to terrible fit. That's why I'm freaking out over my body kit. I know how you guys are, and if my kit has the same problems as everyone else's, then you guys are not going to be happy.

Currently, none of the kits made for the Maximas fit that well. We all know about the Sarona. The JT Autostyle kit doesn't fit either. The Erebuni kit requires a lot of work. And even the Stillen kit doesn't really fit all that well. There are always these little gaps here and there that I've seen on just about every car w/ a Stillen kit.

Ok here's my attempt: The funny thing is I hardly had to do much photo-chopping it almost fit perfect.

Don't have the time to change the color but anyones welcomed to match the color to see what it would look like.

Ok, this thread is 151 posts long. Enough is enough, what more proof do you need?

You asked for atleast 10 people that like the R34 kit. If you have been following this thread, you would have seen well over 10 show their approval for that kit. What you need to do is produce a prototype or something and give us some pictures of what the final product would look like. Otherwise, this thread will go on forever, with no results, just a waste of our time.

He didn't ask for emails.

Clearly, the interest is here. The length of this thread, and a similar thread on the 5th Gen board indicates that people are willing to pay for the R34 kit for their Maximas.

Altima8 simply said he needed atleast 10 people who would be interested in a custom body kit. What's the difference between posting here, or emailing him? Anyone could do either/or, and still change their mind, so what's your point.

Other than a deposit, there's nothing else we can do to make Altima8 beleive we're seriously interested. And the only way he's going to get MY money is if he comes through on his side of the deal. Basically, make a kit, stick it on a Maxima, and show us a pic. That will take time, I know. But to keep asking for interested buyers and a concensus on ONE body kit after 151 posts is pointless.

THE INTEREST IS HERE. WE HAVE PICKED OUT ONE KIT TO START WITH. MAKE THE KIT AND SHOW US A PICTURE.

Unfortunately, with my supplier that's not how it works. Nothing gets made until it's paid for, you guys will have to go by what happens in my altima group buy. Everyone paid up front. 25 people.
That's the way it has to be, but those aren't my rules, they're the production company's.

I'll explain.

The company charges a lot of money to do a "one-off" fully remolded custom kit. Just to make the mold is upwards of $2000 on many cars. So there is no way they are going to fork out maney based on a bunch of people posting that they want something. They want commitment, and that means they want money. They don't care who the money is from; hell...if I had 40 million dollars in the bank I'd produce 300 kits on a handshake, but unfortunately I am neither rich, nor ready to vouch for the validity of someone's promise who I don't know from a hole in the wall. Do I believe you guys want the kits? YES. Does the supplier care I believe you? NO.

I know it is always a leap of faith to do something like this, but I think reputation goes a long way. I had NO reputation established when I started production on the 2 Altima kits, yet through communicating via internet people came to trust me and to know that I wasn't going to take my sweet *** time getting it done.

From an idea...to actual production, and with having never done this before, I managed to get a kit into pruduction in less than a month. that's UNHEARDOF.

So if the condition is that people will only pay once their kit is made and shipped to them, or once there is a certifiable physical prototype made, then I'm afraid we can't do this.

That just simply isn't how this aspect of the industry is set up. I would love to front all the money for this, but I am not in a postition to risk thousands of dollars of my own money on complete strangers.

In summation, if you guys want to check me out, call around, make sure I'm not full of ****....FINE. I welcome it in fact! My reputation is solid gold right now. I will provide any and all info anybody could possibly want, and provide references with well established companies.

I'm afraid that is the best I can do gentlemen! If anyone has any questions feel free to ask, or if there are any suggestions as to how we can work around this somehow I'm very open to any!

Jeff

I don't mean to speak for all Maxima owners. But you're asking people to fork over 750 bucks + shipping for a body kit that hasn't even been built yet based on what? No pictures, no website, just a thread on a web board.

Your only shot at making this work is to provide proof of your work. That's not an unreasonable thing to ask. Maybe you could show us some pics of the kit you made for the Altima, that might give me a better idea of what I'd be paying for. Otherwise, you're wasting your time and ours.

I hear ya, and that shouldn't be a problem. I'll get someone to take pics of their Altima kit ASAP, and I'll get a photoshop done of the R34 and R33 kits on their respective Maximas.

This thread was to see what interest there was, so now that it has been established, we can move on to something more material. The only thing I really can't do is produce a proto and take pics, but everything else is very possible.

I'll see what I can do!

Jeff
