N2O bottle down-tube connection...?

I have a NOS bottle mounted in the trunk, which installation includes a remote bottle control and a bottle warmer. For safety's sake, I'd like to complete the installation with a down-tube. Question: How do you mount the dad-gum down-tube onto the bottle? The package with the down-tube had the tube, a plastic collar, and a flare nut, but no instructions... And my tiny little mind can't figure out where to mount the sucker up. Am I missing a fitting? Please advise. Thanks.

There is a relief valve on the side of the tank 90 deg from the nitrous outlet and hand valve. It connects there. Mine is NOS but I belive others are the same of very similar. All pressure vessels have to have one ie Propane etc.

You need this.

Racer's blow off valve. It's a 4AN.

Thanks for the replies, and thanks for the GREAT pictures! One more question: You mention a 4AN size on that blow-off valve... Do I select 4AN vs. 6AN based on the size of the valve on the bottle, or the size of the fitting on the down-tube? I *think* the size of the fitting on my down-tube is 6AN. Please advise soonest. Thank you much.

NOS only list two adapters both -8AN. Different one for 1st and 2nd Gen. They aren't very specific as to exactly what you need. Is the blow-off tube made by the same company as the bottle?

Oops. I meant to say 8AN. It's the size of the fitting on the blow down tube.

If you don't have room for a blow down tube, which I didn't. You can use Earl hose fitting and SS braided line. Both methods are NHRA legal.

I looked at the NOS website, and both of their blow-off valves are for an 8AN fitting, which my NOS-brand down-tube will fit. I don't know which blow-off valve to get, either. I bought my kit last year, but I have no idea whether it's a 1st or 2nd generation bottle valve. I left NOS an e-mail asking them to advise me soonest. We'll see...

You're right about that clearance consideration. I may not be able to easily route the down-tube out of the trunk. I may have to switch to a SS braided hose. Good idea.

All I need now is a blow-off valve for the bottle, my B/O'd nitrous oxide pressure gauge, and a couple rubber grommets, and I'll be ready to go fill-up the N2O tank for a shake-down cruise.

Anticipation is making me wait...
