Weighed my wheels today

I got a flat tire and had to send the tire back for my warranty. I went to ship it thru fedex and got a chance to wiegh my tire and rims. Check this out:

My Kumho ECSTA 712 at 225/45/17 weighs 22 lbs

My Advanti Racing Turismo (ADR) Rims, at 17x7, weighed 20 lbs!

That's kinda light for a 17" rim, right?? I was like whoah, I guess they really are racing wheels

From what i've seen, 20-23 is right about average for rims of that size

20lbs is pretty decent.

As for the warrantee, where did you get the tires at? Was the flat caused by a defect in the tire or road hazard.

Got my Ecsta712's at the tirerack and just figured that if anything happened to them, that's I'd have to buy a new one. Didn't know they had a warrantee...

Yeah, got road hazard from discouttiredirect.com. Costs $11.75 per tire. I ship them the bad one, they ship me a new one and charge $11.75 for the new road hazard warrantee. I'm not sure if it was a defect. The flat was the result of 2 holes on the sidewall, un-repairable.

I got my Kumhos at the tirerack too, but even if they offered a warranty I don't think I would have bought it. The tires are only ~$75 for 215/55/16s. Now on my 235/40/18 Nittos I bought the warranty from Discount Tire because they are more like $150. 20lbs isn't bad for a 17", but I'm glad my 18"s weigh in at about 20.
