Your Opinions on what to do!!

sup all, I drive a maroon 97 GXE auto..My parents have a Black 99 Gxe 5-speed both cars have 50k on them and 1 of them is going to be traded in at the end of the month..i currently have leather seats, clears, fogs. a radio and clear tails on my 97..If i change to the 99 it will take about a day to remove and replace everything...the only things I lose is lights in my visor mirrors a rear spoiler. To gain i see a Standard transmission and 2 yrs of value...is it worth the time and is it really worth the trouble..i do alot of highway driving but do run into traffic sometimes..i do drive the standard max and understand the better accel etc.. Should i switch Cars or not????

trade trade trade trade trade trade trade trade. Actually, it depends on what you want. You might actually like the auto better, but most people on here are dying to get five speeds and would jump on this in a second. Depends on what you want.

I have time to post on both Maxima and BMW forums
I don't like manuals, and I don't care what some people say. I bought what I wanted and happy with my choice. Steptronic on the BMW is far superior to Maxima's auto tranny, period! Plus if I wanted to race the car I'd get an M3.

Dude i would have to say switch everything you can and take the black 5-speed and get rid of the maroon one first of black is easier to make look good the maroon one its hard to find stuff to match and secondly your getting a 5-speed much more stuff available to make it go fast and run good. IMO.

Why are you so worried about the door panels?

If you are a true driver and have driven a stick in traffic day in, day out and can live with it ... manual is for you.

If you're gonna whine about traffic, get an auto.

AndyXXL, The tranny in your Beemer is definitely superior but I don't think a Tiptronic can replace the old-fashioned gated manual shifter w/ clutch. Maybe I'm old fashioned. Anyway, you get what you pay for and if you're happy, that's all that matters.

WHY??? He has leather door inserts. It takes 30 min to swap all the door panels, even less than that.

oh ok, i think we are confused, i know he has them, but i thought it was a PAIN to swtich them over and i was saying that if you couldn't switch them to the new car it would look out of place.
