Unfortunatly it was not in my MAX, but a roadkill is a kill!
I was driving my friends 97s/c vr6 Jetta 5-speed(supercharged is his name on this board), and I was taking my friends girlfriend for a ride. We are driving on a three lane road each way. Pull up along side of a new c5 corvette. There was no way in the world I thought this guy would race, cant usually get them to race. Well I guess he got tired of me driving next to him so he decides to floor it. Well I was already in a gear and saw him start to downshift, then I hit it also. He kept up to the top of third gear(maybe a little over 100) and I started to pull away and as I shifted to fourth we were about two cars ahead. This went on for two-three more times. Never got to race him from a stand still, good thing cause the Jetta I was drive cant hook up in first gear and we would have gotten blow, but when you get in to second all the fun starts. The girl that was with me was freaken out that we were beating a vette. I know he was driving the hell out of that car too. Than we got cought at a light, I was in the turning lane to turn around and go back the four miles we just ran in like two min. The vette pulls next to us and rolls down the window a says" Damn that thing is ******* fast, holy ****, I cant believe I got beat by a ---what the hell is that thing anyways?"
It was funny, and I never had so much fun in a car. MadMax2k,you had this same settup man. I cant wait till we put the NOS on the car too. Holy xhit hold on..

HEHE no, but I wonder how I would have felt if somone had my girlfriend in the car raceing a $40,000 vette threw downtown at 120mph.. I think I would half to kick my azzzzzz..

I know that the VR6 Jetta is supercharged, but beating a C5? That Jetta must have a lot more than just a supercharger, right? I'm not doubting your story, just that I'm shock that you were able to beat a C5 Corvette. Yes, the VR6 is supercharged, but C5s are madly fast.

Not sure what kind of ponies a supercharged VR6 puts out but they're sicko big HP with the EIP turbo kit, so I'd imagine beating a C5 is reasonable. He'd have to be putting down 320flywheel hp or better (wild guess) but it's do-able, especially in a roll-on. Cool story. Good luck with your friend's girlfriend. Those are the best.

The car has a s/c and exhaust. The s/c puts out 8.5 psi at 6400. He also has alcohol/water injection that injects alcohol into the intake(like NOS) at about 6spi and on. I think MadMax2k dyno like 10-15 hp with the alcohol. He has NOS but it is sitting in a box in the garage. We just finished the car friday so we have not put it on yet. I dont have a hard on for the car but, when you can pull away from 345hp it makes you feel pretty good. MadMax2k if you read this put in some info...If anybody wants to check it out .
