If I Put on Snow tires, Do I have to Balance/align ?
#1
Right now I have on my 17"s with the Z's on them. I'm thinkin bout putting my stock 15's for the winter. Would I have to balance or align or anything, or can I just take the 17's off, and put these on?
Also, I live in Va, no snow pretty much, and if it did, I would just drive our minivan.(In other words I would never drive the Max in snow) So do you think it's even worth putting on the 15's? Thanks guys, sorry if this is a stupid question.

You WILL have to balance them. But you alignment is fine. nm

Balancing should be necessary only when the tire is freshly mounted on the wheel. If you have seperate sets of wheels for winter & summer tires, you should not need to balance them again just because they were off the car and are now back on. Unless a weight falls off the wheels should stay balanced even if they're not on the car.
If you have a 2nd vehicle that you drive in poor weather and leave the Max home, you won't need snow tires for the Max.

I agree with JJW95SC
Assuming you are talking about the OEM wheels with the original tires, then they are already balanced.
If you want to put new snow tires on your OEM wheels, you will need to have the set balanced when the snow tires are mounted. After that, you can switch sets each season without having to worry about re-balancing.

minivan or max??
..for sure it's a personal choice, but for winter snow conditions I'd rather take my chances in the Max any day. What do you usually see in ditches and spun out during snow storms?? Around here, it's minivans and sport-utes!! I'd stay away from that higher centre of gravity in any potential skid situation...just my opinion though!
