The night at the ROCK (1/4 mile)

I decided to head to the track with matthew aka(SR20DEN)tonight and can say we are both very pleased with our times. The reason I decided to go to Rockingham the week before the meet was to get familiar with the strip because I have never raced before on any drag strip. Well to get to the point my car is completely stock all the way down to the stock airbox. My only mod to help with my launch is my h&r's so tell me what you think of my times for my 2k2 auto, and matthew will be on soon to post his results.

best run of the night was actually the last run with me in the finals of the import shootout brackets remember now this is my first appearance racing so here goes

R/T .939
60' 2.221
330' 6.198
1/8 9.457
MPH 75.80
1000 12.276
1/4 14.664
MPH 93.09

well there you go now just curious whats the fastest stock 2k2 auto with a posted timeslip because i will post mine tomorrow

Re: The night at the ROCK (1/4 mile)

Good time. That's the best I've seen so far for a 2K2 Auto. How did the track hook up? Was it well maintained? I have heard rumors that the track has gone down hill since it opened.

Re: Re: The night at the ROCK (1/4 mile)

well it was ok i feel i could have hooked up better than i did but it was my first time ever racing at the track so i was kinda babying it if you can't tell by my R/T i feel it is a consistant 14.7 car stock if you can drive it right and i didn't remove anything either the spare and jack and all that was still in the car

Congrats Matt on a great showing tonight! We did Nissan proud.

So here goes,

I made 5 runs tonight and 4 of them were with the Nitrous.

My fastest speed was 110.23 MPH against some poor old Ecplise.

The recipt printer (or operator) was suffering some type of affliction when I nmade this run so I was forced to go to the tower and get this crappie hand written time sheet. Matt can verify that it IS authentic. I wasn't spraying the juice in 1st gear becasue I thought it would spin way too much so thats why I only did a 14.104, which was my second best time.

Later that night I decided to go all out and be mean to the Z28 that was staged next to me. I hit the Nitrous in first gear after a soft launch. The tires did light up but the car was still pulling like a ****. That allowed me to hit my best of 13.315 @ 108.31 MPH.
.

I hoinestly don't have alot of mods done to this car. Just a UDP, Intake, Eibach springs, and all the Nitrous that the Powershot solenoids will flow. This car made a peak of 313 hp and 337 tq on a dyno the day before.

Overall I am happy with the results. I hope to be dip into the 12's within the next few months. Might have to get slicks by then to get the job done.

Matt and I took plenty of photos that we will post sometime tomorrow.

So until then......

Wow that is amazing. N2o loves freer flowing exhaust, I bet there is another 10-20whp with a full exhaust setup.

That is a really good time, were your 60' times all that low because that is pretty strong for your first time at a track, I couldn't get mine down below 2.3 at Fayetteville the other day, hopefully Rockingham hooks up better and I can get into the mid 14's. Also was there enough room for us to meet up and how crowded was it.

I cant wait for the Rockingham meet now, this is going to be great. From the 60' times I have seen from you guys it looks like the track hooks up pretty well. I do have a couple questions though, how far of a drive was it from Charlotte, do they do bracket racing every friday night, how much does it cost, and when do the gates open.

congrats.... great time

I think the fastest N/A 2k2 was that kid with the GLE, running 14.4 stock.

thats cool if someone hit a 14.4 i think i could do better the more runs i get because most of my times got quicker and quicker. It took us about an hour and a half but it didn't seem like that long of a drive to me. As far as bracket racing this is how it works. They started somewere around 8 i think and its $15 to get in and run so I guess $15 is included for the brackets. They have a cycle bracket, a mustang bracket, an import bracket, and a muscle car bracket. We got there at like 7 and got like 2 runs in before the brackets but we probly could have goten 5 or so in we went back to back as fast as we could. So this time i will get there when it opens at 5:30 or 6:00 not sure which time. I will post another thread were to meet at and more details in the washington DC forum so go there.

i guess next week will be the last run before i get some perfromance mods but i am shooting for 14.5's if i can perfect my launch it may be possible. I think i had a little more go before my car broke loose from the line, and i will have better reaction times shooting for a couple of .5's.
