Freeze it with an ice cube (or two). Your carpet will get a tad wet, but the gum will turn solid and you can pry it right off.....

WD 40 works, but it might require you to shampoo the rug

Use regular vinegar and a rag, and rub it out. It worked for my seat.

I found this stuff at kmart to clean the same thing on my carpets at home

it comes in a red spray bottle
it's called "Pro Shop Garage, Driveway & Patio Cleaner" cleans grease, oil and grime

yes it supposed to be for the outside cement driveways...but MAN does it clean up gum realllllll good...just spray the spot rub it in and in about two minutes you can pick the gum off with a fingernail!!!

(back of the bottle says it is maximum strength, ready to use formula, fast and effective for driveways, garage floors, patios, sidewalks, floors, engines, tools , barbeque grills, garbage cans, lawn mowers and works quickly without hard scrubbing)

it's produced by the national interchem corp....

i'm gonna stop typin now all of that may have been TMI!!

this is the BEST way and it works on any fabric! especially clothes and carpet! all you need is an IRON and a PAPERTOWEL. lay the napkin or paper towel over the gum and heat up the iron and commence ironing. it melts the gum and for some strange reason it attaches to the napkin to disappear from your carpet!

i assure you this is not a trick to make you smear melted gum even worse into your carpet!

just pull your car into your garage and grab the iron and papertowel.
