There have been no drawbacks. The VQ35 is internaly balanced motor so nothing is messed up. This pulley isnt dramatically smaller then OEM, so you can still run a system in your car and not have your lights dim. The gain is gained more from the light weight of the pulley since the OEM one has been said to weigh several lbs since it is made of steel.

Got mine installed yesterday as well as my suspension (eibach & agx's) At first I didn't notice to much of a difference, but after a lil driving u'll begin to feel a slight increase in power.....It's not dramatic but enough to notice. All in all worth the price.

All you need for install is a Alternator belt which is about $10? Not sure on price. And some anti freeze compound to put on the pulley before install.

OEM crank pulley weighs several pound, the Definitive one weighs in at 1.28lbs. This allows the motor to spin much easier since it doesnt have to spin a heavy crank pulley.

Dont worry the group buy is staying open till I get the pulleys available for the fourth gen maximas (vq30). So no rush, still should be sometime around next next week.

JBL, please respond to this query by Woo Cho.

Also, if the answer to the above is in the negative, does the 4th gen pulley you're working on = 5th gen (3.0L)?

Basically it only fits late 5th gen, I.E. 02/03. VQ30DE pulleys will be available within April. The group buy will remain open a few weeks after that.

Thanks
Nick

Should be next week and I will have the 4th gens Available.

How many fourth gens(5th w/VQ30) are going to be buying so I know how many timing rings to make?

-Nick

Oh and 1 more thing, if you guys want to do a group buy where the belts are included for a discount as well, let me know I will get some prices up.

Well, I'm still in as long as the price is still the same. A new thread such as "VQ30 Definitive Pulleys for $110 now available!" may get you more sales. Since the "timing ring incident", not sure how many 4th geners follow this thread as religiously as myself.

Also, I might be interested in belts. Preferably good ones like Gates or Goodyear. Let us know on the pricing.

Yes, the pulley is $110 + shipping. I will find out belts + pricing if there is enough interest, otherwise its just for the pulleys.

So you will be producing these for the 4th Gens correct? Well, I have followed the thread very well and I am VERY interested and willing to buy for the 4th Gen. I am not in need of belts since I can get them cheap around my place. I just need to know the actual belt sizes or recommended Belt part numbers....

hey JBL85 i'd like to get one for my 99 maxima, but not before i see some before and after dyno numbers though. i can wait until everything's worked out (timing ring) so there's no problems, oh and don't forget to replace the Front Oil Seal when installing the pulley on the crankshaft! (Nissan Part number 13510-31U00 costs about $8) meanwhile i better start saving some more cash for some Kumho's!

good luck! (if you can PM me when it's going to be available for the 4th gen since there's an 85% chance i'm going to get it!)
