they run from the unit in the front through the conduits under the doors and to the unit in the back. Not sure since I didn't install it myself.

Works perfectly fine. The only problem I've had with it so far was I had to move it back a bit so it'd stop rattling on the glass

This is just an update on my problem. I got my AUX adapter yesterday and hooked it up. Everything works great. I threw my FM modulator away. Also, Sirius never called me back about getting a packing slip so I could return the unit. Panasonic requires a packing slip and I wasn't sent one. Oh well, all is good now. Thanks for everyone's help!

Mine took about 2 hours, but that was with some modifications to the dash. I decided to get creative. I have added a piece of a 2x4 and piece of a DVD case ....

Damn, I forgot all about the internet activation and ended up paying the $15 activation. Oh well, I should have payed more attention... Anyways, got my system set up and it works great. I will get pics up soon. I wish I had a clever place to put my controller, but I have a 3rd gen

P.S. I notice a lot of Bass in the music. Maybe it has something to do with the lower frequency of the radio tuner?

I dunno if it'll make any difference, but you can up the FM frequency to 90.5 in the setup on the Panasonic.. (if you got the audiovox I assume there's something similar in it).

Mine is slightly quieter than a CD but it doesn't hurt me any just to up the volume a couple notches.

Where did you mount the controller? I think i'm just gonna use the adhesive and stick it to the cup holder "face plate".

Sirius (and XM) have repeaters on the ground that supposidly help out with signal. If you're not in an area with those you might have a tougher time. Also, if your tint has any metal in it it'll totally mess up the signal if you want to put it in the inside. Maybe that's why its not working on the rear deck

Just got mine!!

OK,

I just got my Panasonic kit in yesterday and I was reading through the manual. How did you guys get the power to the tuner? I want to mount mine in the trunk and I was just curious how others have powered their tuners.

Thanks

Kevin

I mounted my controller over the coin tray (under the ash tray) with the velcro. I have a separate CD player in place of my cup holder tray. I likeit there, it fits in that spot perfectly and its easy to access and read. I currently have the antenna on the rear deck as well, the reception is decent, but I lose it a lot in certain areas. Im thinking of putting it on the roof as well, but its so damn ugly and I dont like the idea of sticking something to my paint.

Mine's hacked in there right now. I just tapped off the power wire and the remote wire to my amp.

A new antenna will be available within the next couple of months. It will be smaller and lower profile than the ones you have. Retail on them will be $39.99. As for reception, Sirius recommends that the antenna be mounted on the roof for best reception.

If you are mounting your controller in the trunk and have a factory radio I recommend that you use the power wires behind your radio. DOn try to find a wire with power in the trunk area....its just not smart to do it that way unless you have an amp with power and a remote lead.

So where would you suggest mounting the Satellite receiver? Under the dash?

You can mount it in the trunk, just use the wires from behind the radio. If there is room up front, you can also mount it there. (Mine is mounted on the rear deck in my trunk and all power connections were run to the front)The important thing about the power is to make sure you get it from a good source. The factory radio power wires are good for this application.

Just ordered the Panasonic. The guy said I have to the 4th of April to activate before they charge the $142 for the year. I want to do the monthly thing first. Do they just take your credit card when you order it for verification?

No, they take your credit card and will charge it on the 4th for a full year if you have not activated and chosen monthly billing. Even if your unit is not installed, activate it by the deadline. (I didnt know we extended it, I thought it was the 26th)

...panasonic = pos. I brought the kits (audiovox and panasonci) to 3 different car audio shops and they all look at the panasonci and agreed it looked better but that it was crap..something about the wiring. Anyway. A friend of mine got a panasonic kit and had it professionally installed today. It worked for 5 minutes and cut out, and it still has powers etc. Just like the other guys problem, everything checks out fine from what I can see with the wiring, going back to the shop to recheck it all tomorrow. I think the receiver for the panasonic is just junk. hehe

I hope you didnt get a bad unit. I can safely say, while you and a couple of other people are having difficulties, our service is working fine. Also, we will get you set up properly if the unit is defective. Blasting the product doesnt get us anywhere. Lets just get it fixed!

If you ordered and were told the 26th, make sure it is activated by the 26th. If they told you the 4th, make sure it is done by the 4th. We did extend the program for 1 week. This means the last day to order on is tomorrow.

Just wondering how satisfied everyone is with their Sirius gear and service. As for mine, I dont have and problems with the equipment, everything is installed well and works as it should. I have my antenna on the rear deck between the rear speakers. I am wondering how everyone reception is because mine isnt all that great. It might have something to do with the area im in, the amount of trees, and placement of my antenna. I lose my signal a lot. The reception breaks up a lot. I will probably mount my antenna on the roof as I should have, but Im wondering how much of a difference it will make. I wish my car was black because then it wouldnt look so bad.

I've got the same setup and i'm satisfied with it. One good thing is that i have a friend that got in on the same deal and he mounted his antenna on the roof. Our signals drop at the same places around here. For the first few days we just kept track of when the signal was lost so we could see if his mounting on the roof was better and so far we drop the signal at the same places. Considering all i get where i am is country I'm glad to have some variety even if it cuts out everyonce in a while.
