well, if anyone knows companies that can produce the molds, i have a passenger side all clear sitting in my room with no other side so it's useless to me for now. so if they needed that to copy it or something, i'd be more than willing to send it somewhere as long as i'm compensated, or get it back in the same condition or whatever. just figured i'd throw it out there.

 

how did you end up with 1 red/clear tailight?

come on people, we got a perfect copy of a red/clear.

 

I know. I'm about done with this cause there are NO UPDATES. No word. I thought they had a prototype done. WTF gives with this.

 

I decide long ago that this thread was going nowhere. I got read clears the easy way. My 97/9 CF trunklid will be here next week and then I'll order some R/C's and snag some used inner tails.

 

There are no updates because nothing has been updated. And there never was a prototype. For some reason the guy decided to wait forever and a day and get my hopes up to tell me that after taking a closer look at the lens they probably won't be able to do it because their machine isn't a high pressure machine so it will probably leave air bubbles in the lenses that would be visible. If the entire lens had a pattern it would be ok but the bottom portion is all smooth so it will probably create problems. I did my best guys sorry for the bad results. If anything else comes of it I'll let you know. I'll keep trying but there are no promises.

 

and how much did the carbon fiber trunl cost you? can you put a spoiler on it also?

I agree let this die but one last thing. Somebody did say they had one all clear. Why can't they take that to get massed produced by some company and then we could have our lights.

 

The simple answer is, its just not possible for a company to produce these and make a profit.

I want them as much as everyone, but dont hold your breath.

 

I had a talk with the guys at Paradox and they said that they would have to make about 100K units in order to make this work. Now I'm not sure if this was BS or what it was but if it's cool, i could tell them we have 1 all clear that they could use to possibly mass produce these and get us 95-96 guys what we are looking for. If not then i'm going to go black/reds.

 

Just give up guys and do the 97-99 conversion

Dude, they were just playing around with you, theres no way they will make that much regardless if we have clear for a template.
They could probably realistically expect to sell only 100 or so sets at best.

why would they 5expect to sell 100 at best when the list gets bigger and bigger everyday?

 

cost 100k$ to make a mold from scratch.

 

Y not have him work with what he has? I am sure he can come up with some red clears that dont look PERFECTLY like the stock mold...

Maybe he can modify them to look a little different?

Congrats. I am in the market to do the same. I'm looking for a '98/'99. I thought about getting a new G35 but I think I'd rather save money - and besides I have soooo many Maxima parts (either on my '96 or in my garage) that it'd be a waste. Now if I can only find a white on black, all options, ABS, low miles....

This company is in the process of making them. They are not made yet. They are a small company apparently and do this stuff on the side. Their house burned down, so things have been delayed. Don't ask me how long it will be. I don't know. I emailed them last week and it sounded like it was going to be a while yet.

Five people sent in deposits and they are using someone's stock tails to make the mold for the all-clears and red-clears. They will sell them after that.

Check their website every few weeks. I'm guessing they'll post them when they are done. That's all I know. Others' may know more.

 

We'll beleive it when we see pics. I have read claims like this countless times over the years.

Agreed. I wouldn't hold my breath either. I exchanged emails DIRECTLY with the people at Klearz. They say they are working on it. Maybe it will happen. Maybe it won't. I just wanted to answer the many questions posted in this thread. So yes, I agree with you. I'll believe it when I see it, too!
