Nilesh- possibly, I might have missed it, and if that's the case, I will get you a 556u ASAP...let me know when you get your package (sorry if I did).
Wayne-first one should be there tomorrow, your other three by Friday

If I am wrong on anyone's account (such as I shipped you not enough/too many of whatever), please post.
Thanks
Alex

Alright now that we have the alarms shipped, let's talk about install.

Where is the best location to install the brain?...and do these vipers come w/ a backup battery. The spot in the bronx is charging me $135 for install.

nacho: that is something you dont want to talk about in a public forum for security reasons. You dont want to tell people anything about your install.

Yeah I know, and they're authorized as well. The only problem is that they're in the g.h.e.ttttto. lol...but I hope that makes them even more knowledgable on detering theft.

Yessir, both of my Canadian orders shipped out, except USPS couldn't give me tracking numbers, rather gave me "Delivery Confirmation"???? If you're ok with that (well, you kinda have to be), let me know.....I was so stunned at the post office (hadn't been there in a few years).....
But everyone except Jeremy (Mr. Studman, please call me, as I stated in my message yesterday)....

Everyone let me know when you get yours!!!!
Thanks everyone!
Alex

The differences between the 555U and 556U are as follows:

1) Better sensitivity - this is great for us 2002-2003 owners because our NVIS/NATS units are more sensitive than previous ones

2) European support - In certain vehicles, like Mercedes Benz, the car requires that only one key be read at any given time. The 556U adds another 2 wires that connect to the key sense wire in the ignition switch. When your MB key is inserted, the 556U will shut down. Upon removal of your MB key (if the car is still remotely started), the 556U will energize again, thereby allowing the car to only read 1 key. This particular option does not matter to us, as Nissan does not (yet) use this type of security.

does anybody know if we could just tap into the trunk release that is already in the car?...instead of buying a relay for it? if not where can i get the relay? thanks!

You probably have to get a relay for the trunk release. The reason being that the factory relay probably requires a higher voltage than what the aftermarket alarm can provide. Most shops and electronic stores that do alarm installs usually carry these relays. They are pretty cheap at most places.

cool thanks a lot, does anyone know how hard it is to add in the window controller after the alarm has been installed for a few months? bascially taking out the brian, and wiring up the window controllers? or would it be best to just go ahead and do it all at once....??

my friend bought one too and we both need to install the whole thing alarm/remote start.....with you that would make three people, do you think they would give us a little discount? plus when i decide to put in the window controllers my friend and i will go back to him.....since you did an install with him, do you think you could call him up as a previous customer and ask him? thanks!

I just gave him a call...He said he can't really get the price any lower than what he quoted me for. So with remote start, the install is $130. There's a possibility we can hussle with him a bit when we're there...That's how I got my price However, if you go back for the window controllers I think he'll do it for cheaper.

Hey guys, I am glad everyone is getting theirs already, and as always, feel free to contact me if I can be of any help.

Thanks again everyone for making it such a great deal, our (Maxima.org members) massive group buying power prevailed yet again.
