Didn't you say there is some sort of discount on the exhaust for those of us who pre-ordered the Y-Pipe? Just curious how much of a discount we get...

That's right, for a limited time (good through the end of 2007) anyone who purchases an 04-08 Maxima y-pipe is eligible for an additional 5% off the price of the 04-08 Maxima catback (on top of the maxima.org discount), bringing the catback price down to $776. This offer is good up to 90 days after the purchase of the y-pipe.

Not included, the one box is a monster. Varies from about $40-60, depending on distance from Arizona.

Can you post up some pictures of the exhaust? I'm so anxious to get this, but funding may not come through for a few weeks. Very curious what mufflers it comes with and how tucked they are...

Sure, no problem. I don't think Deus ex Maxima will mind me using his car as a model.

Up close to the dual 3", double-wall, resonated tips:

From the side, showing how the angle-cut tips compliment the body lines:

From the rear (note that the rear muffler panels are smaller and better tucked than catbacks with the "twin mirror" effect):

Just the system:

Is there an option to change which mufflers we get? I am liking the "turbo" look like on these:

No, although we'll sell the tubing sections (everything back to the mufflers) seperately if you want to fabricate a solution. In addition to the extra cost of giving one system customer attention, the cost of buying two of those (what you're paying per unit) would be much higher than what we pay when we buy 50 at a time, and would add at least $200 to the system price.

To each their own, but I feel that the slight angle-cut on the tips we use goes very well with the lines of the valance.

If you don't mind me asking, Brian, are the 00-03 rear sections being made now the same as they always were, or are you now using mufflers that look like the 04+ cat-backs? Just wondering, because those 6th Gen ones look real nice too.

We're sticking with the same muffler design we've been using on the 00-03 version. We make the entire muffler in that system, using sound deadening materials and contruction methods that are at least a bit superior to any "ready-to-use" muffler we could buy. When it came to a dual-muffler system for the 04+, the Magnaflow muffler/tip combinations offered a cost-effective but high quality althernative to making our own.

I should add that although two Magnaflow mufflers are reasonably quiet on the 04+, just using one of these on the 00-03 would tend to be pretty loud - certainly louder than the unit that we build - even with a good resonator.

How much for just the piping (with and without the Y-Pipe discount)? I assume it'll come with everything except the mufflers themselves? Looking at the pictures it appears there are some pieces that bolt up to the Y by the mufflers...I want to make sure those come with...

Also, what size inlets do the mufflers have to have?

I don't have all the information I need to provide exact prices for the tubing system and muffler pair (sold separately), though I will soon. If purchased with another major exhaust part (like a y-pipe, or headers when they're available), we'll our system exhaust discount of -7.5%.

I'll point out that the system you're looking for will look a bit different than the picture in this thread (catback on the floor). We've redesigned the connection between the tubing system and muffler/rear sections to mimic the stock system. This allows two things that can't be done now, you can install our mufflers by themselves with the stock tubing, or you can use another muffler pair (if its designed to go with the stock system) with Cattman tubing.

The tubing diameter to the individual mufflers is around 2", but I'm not sure of the precise measurement since the muffler's rear section slips over the outside of the tubing from the Y-split in the catback.

Hey

the KYB GR2 Struts is front and rears, right?

if i'm interested in the KYB GR2 Struts/Progress RSB and Progress Lowering Springs, howmuch would it cost including shipping to Canada? Please let me know, I'm in the process of saving up for this so if i have a ball park figure, that'd help - thanks in advance.

Brian,

for an 02 FastCat, can I buy it customized from you?
I have a set of gen I headers, about to put them in the 02 maxima. I'm planning to relocate both secondary O2 sensors behind the downstream catalytic converter. What better way to do this than having the O2 bungs welded onto the rear thin section of the FastCat, right? If you can do this for me, I really don't mind paying a bit extra. I'll also buy the dual output O2 simulator that you may have.

Please quote me shipped to 70808 for FastCat customized, and another quote for FastCat customized with the O2 simulator.
