If you look closley at the dyno numbers not just the line, you will notice that at 5k we are both ~235hp, but at 6k he is at ~270 and I am at ~295, thats 25hp. we both have the same boost level of ~10psi.

I don't see a response...

so I must be blind. Anyway... I guess the design of the exhaust piping pre and post turbo is top secret. I fell that, let me know when it becomes declassified information.

As long as you see how it is, all is good

Have some patience! His wife is still sick, he got his car back about a week ago, and he doesnt owe you a d@mn thing. Ask nicely. If you dont see his reply perhaps you should do a search. Do you think this is the only thread about his turbo

I thought I had a life...

I guess the fact that I wish to see how the exhaust piping works utterly reveals my lack of a life.

As far as him responding to my questions... HE DID NOT! I am sorry that your wife has been sick, but that really has nothing to do with answering my posts. You found time to answer many other's posts.
And... just so its clear, responding to my post on a totally different post does not qualify as responding.

Let me know when you get some pics of the piping.

He said he was putting together a writeup for the whole thing along with pics. That was in response to your post. Guess you'll just have to wait for that.

Well Erock first off your new here. Not that we would treat you any worst, but your post are pretty demanding. We don't know you and maybe, just maybe his piping is confidential because he's selling it.

Now if you were to put some money down to show some true interest not just a lurker trying to copy someones setup he might just send you some pix. I worked very hard for my setup and have posted more pix than my tuner really wanted me too but hey that's me. But I won't post any underside pix of my setup either specially if I'm selling it.

What I'm trying to say you shouldn't demand something from someone thats worked so hard to get a working setup (proof in the dynos), just cuz you want it. You have not established a friendship with him and you haven't given any money for that type of info.

Put yourself in his shoes. Some little NEWBIE is demanding pictures and not showing any other interest in maxima.org. To me that implys you are just trying to copy the setup. In your profile it says you joined in Oct. 2000 and have 0.04 posts per day with a total of 22. MOST of those have come in the past week! Show that you actually even own a maxima and you'll get more respect. If some newbie demanded pictures of something you've done to a car of yours spending $3-4K on it right after you JUST GOT YOUR CAR BACK would you be super interrested in helping the punk out?

You say you are sorry his wife is sick but then turn right around and accuse him of ignoring you. YOU DIDNT EVEN KNOW SHE WAS SICK!!! How closely are you following these threads?!

Like UncleMax said - throw down some $$$ and maybe you'll get a pic. Hey, better yet -> why not make a kit yourself? Oh, wait a sec, thats probably why you are DEMANDING to see the pics after all isnt it

You seem to think that he doesnt have pics of the piping, I can assure you that he does.

Kirk

P.S. This should demonstrate why I'm the #1 MHOM.

What the hell are you talking about...

I am not "new here"... I have been a member longer than you! You joined in 2001... how dare you call me a NEWBIE. Believe me when I say that your number of posts does not determine your familarity with the board, it's members, or Maximas in general. I have been on the ORG since 1999 and a member since 2000. I have been to every single maxus since the first meet in Richardson, TX. Oh, I don't own a maxima though... I own TWO!!! I have owned and driven a maxima since 1997. It is funny to me now that you felt the need to tell me to get a life. You post an average of 8+ times a day. How do you even find time for that? Like you said yourself... you need to find some "non Maxima" friends. The reason I haven't posted "a lot" is because I do have a life.

You can't be serious about me paying money to see pics. This is the first mod I have seriously considered in over a year. All he had to say from the beginning was that he did not want to reveal the pics of the exhaust piping. I didn't know that he was trying to turn a profit on this turbo group buy. If I had known that would have been and is fine with me. Overall, Unclemax is probably right... I was too demanding and I apologize for that. However I beleive that I was not the only one requesting pics. I was simply curious because he mentioned that the shop used his aftermarket y-pipe and I can't really picture that. I have seen unclemax's piping and I was curious about his.

Wow... what am I missing...

He is right you know... Eric introduced me to the beauty of the VQ back in college. I missed the first maxus, but we have been to all the others together.

Oh and 1/3thereblahblahblah... show some respect for your elders!

How dare I? What does it say below your name? Whats that? Oh yeah, NEWBIE! I never said you were new her, I pointed out the fact that you joined in 10/2000...or as you are an "elder", as Slickismax stated, maybe its the alzheimers setting in

Believe me when I say that your number of posts does not determine your familarity with the board, it's members, or Maximas in general.
I dont remember saying it did. I just find it odd that you only now start posting and DEMANDING pictures. By the way, Im not the only person who has been telling you to chill out, Im just the only one willing to dig into it with you.

I have been on the ORG since 1999 and a member since 2000. I have been to every single maxus since the first meet in Richardson, TX.
Do you want a cookie?

Oh, I don't own a maxima though... I own TWO!!! I have owned and driven a maxima since 1997.
You own 2, yet your profile says nothing of the sort. Interresting....

It is funny to me now that you felt the need to tell me to get a life. You post an average of 8+ times a day. How do you even find time for that?
LMAO - talk to MedicSonic and all the moderators about why I have so many. Do a search on all of my posts and see how many I had per day and what they consisted of. Im a college student with too much time on my hands. Read in my sig, do you know what PWA is? Read up on it. Better yet, do a search for it.

Like you said yourself... you need to find some "non Maxima" friends. The reason I haven't posted "a lot" is because I do have a life.
Show me where I said that I "need to find some "non Maxima" friends." You cant can you? Maybe because I've never said it. So you're saying you've never had a question about turbos, even with other members custom fitting them, until Nigel did his? That increases your credibility.

You can't be serious about me paying money to see pics. This is the first mod I have seriously considered in over a year. All he had to say from the beginning was that he did not want to reveal the pics of the exhaust piping. I didn't know that he was trying to turn a profit on this turbo group buy.
How could you not know he was selling them!!!! Do you even read the threads you post in? JC man! Why do you think he even said that they had to set up a jig for the piping? Because he wanted everyone in the world to see just what it looks like so they can go make their own? One of the reasons he got his kit cheap is because he told them he'd try to sell them. You really need to read these threads.

It is true you were not the only one asking for pics. You were, however, the only one repeatedly DEMANDING them. I know you appologized for that and I will not hound you anymore, but dont act so innocent.

Kirk

P.S. Further proof Im the #1 MHOM.

P.S.S. Have to give Bill a shout out here for teaching me how to pull apart a post and reply systematically.

Slick...blahblahblah....why dont the elders show respect as well? Hounding a groundbraker who is SELLING a turbo kit is showing respect? If you show respect you will receive it from me. If you dont I usualy just ignore you. If you disrespect someone I know I bite. Im already the MHOM so my rep doesnt matter to me. I have nothing to lose, and you might know, those are the ones you need to watch out for.

Yeah...bill, ben, medic....the rest....all got pretty mad. Partly due to sig, partly due to PW'ing. Oh well, the PW'ing stopped and the server is still slow...that means I get to say "I TOLD YOU SO!!"

Dont worry about the party. I asked her to hold on, she did, all is cherry bruh.

If you are nice, so am I. (Purposefully redundent)

Kirk don't take this crap from anyone, Go to the high octane board and take a breather. By the way I love the way an interesting thread like turbo talk can turn into a trash talking session. Only on the ORGy. I do like the senior citizens talking trash. How do they find time to post all the crap and go to bingo? Sure hope the retirement home has a broadband, so they can post quicker.

Can anyone else smell the PI$$...

Bottom line... I didn't feel I was being demanding. I asked a questiona and never saw a response. I asked it again and never saw a response. I then asked if some posts were invisable? Looking back it appears that I was responded to, but not directly.

It is funny how you started out ******* me because I was "new here" and when you find out otherwise, you start ******* me for being old. It is really pathetic. Yes, I am older than you... but from looking at the picture in your profile I would guess that 90% of the Org members are older than you. I am 23 and I have been on the org for 3.5+ years. I dont post information about my cars because I have never felt the need to. It really is as simple as that... I use the Org as a resource, it is not my social life. I am sure most of you can appreciate or atleast understand that.

As far as respect goes... I never have and never will desire your respect.

I do, however, respect what Nigel and Unclemax have done and I did not mean any disrespect by my posts. Chances are I will probably buy this turbo kit.

I hope this arguement can end here... we both know where we stand.

Hehe! I am new too!

The part of the design you are requesting to see is something my tuner had thought up and out of respect for him, I don't want people copying his design ... it'll probably happen eventually, but at least I would like to help him recover a little money on the jig he made. It's not brain surgery or anything. It actually looks pretty slick! There are several ways to do it, this may not necessarily be the best, depending on what your needs are. It hangs a little low but no lower than my engine support. I believe (I don't know this for sure) that this also helps the turbo be efficient in a certain way. Exhaust gases travel a little distance before they reach the turbo. The gases will cool down some and not heat the turbo and therefore not heat up the charge gas so much. There are many conflicting theories on this ... one says the exhaust manifold should be as close to the turbo as possible so gases are still hot enough to be high velocity and spin up the turbo faster etc etc ... In any case I am happy with the results.

If you want to see the piping, you'll have to buy the kit! ... or come to CO.

Unclemax has been very generous about pics. I haven't seen any from Turbomax's. I am sure he has his reasons and I fully respect that! I have shown most of what is key for the turbo to work. How exactly exhaust gases are directed to the turbo is really quite irrelevant. How the turbo and I/C are integrated as part of the entire system is far more important! I have shown detailed pics of these!

It is funny how you started out ******* me because I was "new here" and when you find out otherwise, you start ******* me for being old. It is really pathetic.

You've said it yourself, you need to read more closely. Go back to my first post on you. In it you'll see that I gave you credit for joining in 10/2000. I mearly called you a "Newbie" for what should be obvious reasons(look under your name). I started ******* you for being old because slick.....whogivesacrap said to "respect my elders"

Yes, I am older than you... but from looking at the picture in your profile I would guess that 90% of the Org members are older than you.
And just how old do you think I am? What is the avg. age of members on here? Have a demographics sheet?

I am 23 and I have been on the org for 3.5+ years. I dont post information about my cars because I have never felt the need to. It really is as simple as that... I use the Org as a resource, it is not my social life. I am sure most of you can appreciate or atleast understand that.
You think this is my social life? I go to CU Boulder, the #4 party school in the NATION and you think all I do is sit here on my computer to interact with others? I mostly post in the west coast forum where we discuss our meets and organize them. Do a search on my posts, you'll find the proof.

As far as respect goes... I never have and never will desire your respect.
Good, because you wont get it. My respect for you must carry about as much weight as yours does for me.

I do, however, respect what Nigel and Unclemax have done and I did not mean any disrespect by my posts. Chances are I will probably buy this turbo kit.

I hope this arguement can end here... we both know where we stand.
I too hope the arguing stops, but if it doesnt thats ok too.

Nigel - sorry for getting OT.

First, it's illegal for a mechanic to change the prices on you without your consent. Second, these prices really aren't that different than a Supercharger, except it moves the battery and seems to be more work to install. But I'm not going to "playa-hate" (to use a contemporary colloquialism) as this is a great alternative to $tealin' if you've got the money and are willing to put in the effort. Enjoy your Turbo. You'll certainly be kicking my N/A a$$...
