I haven't really heard of any problems...I've heard of a few vacuum leaks because some things weren't tightened down completely...and I know on my dyno run that the VI opened a little later than what my RPM read...but it open consistantly...but other than that I've heard a lot of good out comes. So, I'm not really sure to what your referring to?!?!?! I know some people had forgotten to take of their throttle body gasket and include it on the install...or replace them...and that contributed to a vacuum leak but other than that...haven't really heard any bad things. Everybody that I've talked to has been really happy with the mod.

It all depends

It all depends on what types of mods you have on your car. But for me with it open and closed I had 12HP peak difference. and from 5000-redline I had an average HP gain of like 20 or so...at like 6500 it was 30HP more than without the VI. The total price if you include everything like VI, rpm switch, map/baro, vacuum canister and stuff would run you total of about 625-665 or so...and if you want the VI cover add $70. I don't have a 1/4 mile track but with that much HP I would say .2-.7 seconds would be pretty easy. But, 1 full second...maybe if it is stock and then with the VI. But, it will definitely shave some time of your 1/4 mile time. =)

Unfortunately it won't.

Unless you have a VQ30DE engine in your car. But I"m sure you could fabricate something to make it work...like it is always said with money nothing is impossible. But for a straight bolt on, highly unlikely. =)

The orders come in

The orders will be here at the beginning of September and I will keep you posted and give you the tracking number when they have left Japan. Just need a little patience. I know how nerve racking it is though waiting on it to come in.

Thanks for your patience,
John

You are better off looking into a used VE motor to replace your VG. Watch out for the VTCs on them VEs though. Do I have enoughs Vs in this paragraph?

At the current time with the exchange rate your looking at about 550 for the VI and about 620 for the VI and cover. But that is the MO and check price the paypal is 2.9% more because that is what they charge.
Is this still the price? Can you e-mail me order info? chez75@optonline.net

Thanx.

There isn't really a wait except for my contact to get them in so it takes about 4-7 weeks from when you place the order with me. So, if you order one right now you would have to wait about 4-7 weeks and then you would have it in your possession. I sent you some order info. Hope that helps and if you have any other questions feel free to shoot me an email and I'll be glad to respond.

People that are interested in getting and email I went ahead and am sending that out to you here in like 15 minutes...Bosco it does seem that it is going to be shipped out around the 6th of the month, he hasn't changed it on me. Just to touch base with you. Shoot me an email if you have any question.

I think there might be a small problem with the server on the .org because I haven't gotten any emails with the updates to any post on forums I get, or any email that is being sent from choosing the email button to the left. So if you have any questions please send me an email at [email]cranfillj@aol.com[email]. Or post here but it might be a day or 2 before a response is posted....but I will check the post everyday until the problem is fixed.

Thanks alot,
John

Guys, be patient. Expect the VI to take at least 6 weeks to arrive. John (Cranman) is a good guy and he won't screw you over. His dealer in Japan appears to be a top-notch vendor too. Everything came to my door packaged very nicely and there were numerous indications that the vendor checked to make sure all parts were in the box. I was very impressed. I was a bit unlucky in that my VI took over 10 weeks to arrive, but that was because I missed out on the first VI shipment because I ordered a bit late and because of a weather event in Japan which damaged the vendors building. When your VI is shipped, you will get an e-mail with a photocopy of the shipping slip and a link to track your shippment. It took 3 days to get from Japan to my house in Kansas City.

John-
How much would it be to order an extra VI upper cover gasket just in case I need one in the future. Should I just contact the dealer directly?

I also need to get behind John on this one. My VI arrived in exactly six weeks. Like Dave, everything was labeled, packaged and shipped in a thorough and professional fashion.
John was great to work with and handled a blind transaction professionally and provided up to date info.

Please keep in mind that without John and Ian we would not have the MEVI here on the .org. They have taken time away from their jobs, hobbies etc. to get these things to us.

John: Thanks again , you the MAN!

Mr. Cranman is VERY GOOD

I want to chime in too and say that John and his vendor are THE BEST. Sure you have to wait 6 weeks (more or less), but the shipment could not have gone smoother. The packaging was about as top notch as it gets, in terms of quality of components (utterly new), securing of components, and documention to speed through customs. As others have said, just be patient... it will come. I have no reservations at all with recommending Mr. Cranman.

...just don't trust the EMS tracking info as being totally up to date. It was saying something about Chicago arrival when the knock at the door came from my postal carrier with the goods!

I would first like to say thank you for what you said I appreciate it, and I thank you for your patience with me also.

On the other hand the gaske would cost about 15 dollars I think with shipping...which is the painful part but I don't have a VI cover on my car so when I order one I'll get several gaskets and just hold on to them for people. But I can find out how much it would cost for that one item. Might take a few days though

Have a great week

There upper cover gasket is about 5 bucks plus shipping..I don't think shipping would be that much but you never know...maybe 10-15 bucks tops.

Wow, I like it just for the cover, it really cleans up the engine I will definitely be getting one of these soon, maybe when our money is worth something again

Does the MEVI work well with CAI's or SC/TC's? Would it still be beneficial once I get a Turbocharger (when they are proven!)??

It works with CAI that is what I have here is a spreadsheet of my dyno's http://www.vanillaice.com/webmasters...mrc/mrcVI.xls. Anyway, the SC/TC should be really benificial...at least with Mardigras he picked up 25HP at the wheel with his Max...and Nigel turbo97SE should be getting his VI in a by the end of next week so hopefully we will have a dyno run for a turbo charged VI...which I expect to put out the same numbers as the SC. Anyway this is a great mod to get...but be prepared to want to drive through redline each time you go out driving.

25 more HP at the wheels just by adding the intake to his already SC engine? wow, thats great. I am definitely picking one of these up.

The cover that comes with the VI goes over the valve cover that comes stock, right? Cause in those pictures the engine with the VI cover has a different valve cover than stock...

Well the VI covers up the fuel rails and ignition cables. Basically just makes the engine bay look spiffy and clean...I didn't purchase it but I'm probably going to purchase it after I get cams. But, I don't know what picture your looking at but here is the site http://www.vanillaice.com/webmasters/hype/mrc/mevi.htm it is about half way down the page. And it looks like it belongs...it meshes nicely I just like how it connects with the oil cap!

Yeah, in the same picture, his valve cover looks mostly covered by black plastic, while the one above it (smaller pic) isn't, which is like mine. Is that another aftermarket part?

I just painted my OEM valve cover. Besides regardless of what color everything is it will still fit the same

It looks like I'm starting to get updates again from the org.

So, if you post something here I should respond rather quickly now that I have emails coming in...but to be on the safe side you can always email me at cranfillj@aol.com if you don't get a response in a day.
