remote programing

hey all i have a friend in need of help. it s a 97 i30 and the programing for my maxima that we tried being that their both nissan didnt work..... was wondering if anybody has or knows how to program them? much thanks in advance to any answer.

You cannot program an I30 remote without CONSULT-II (computer). You will need all duplicates as well or the others will no longer work.

If you are refering to the KEYLESS ENTRY REMOTE, you are incorrect. You do not need a CONSULT-II. Here is the method

lock all doors....

insert key in ignition 6 times in less than 10 secs...(hazards will blink 2wice)

insert one last time and press lock button.

Sorry. I stand corrected. Keys here have integrated keyless entry, immobilizer system, and key. No remote. The key is also the remote. Just key with buttons normally found in remote controllers. Tried it with mine and it doesn't work. I trashed my key because of it.

i bought a new battery for my remote and never had to re program it.i dont know why

I think that if you change the battery with in a quick amount of time the remote will not lose the programing. However, if you are lazy like me and don't get a new battery for say a month, then it will lose it.

Is this the same with the 01 i30? I also need a remote. someone pm me if you know how to program please. without the remote its very annoying lol

whats a good place to buy a remote? freaking original keyles or something ripped me off online so im scared to order online but if anyone know a trusted seller will give it a try.
