100watt lites
100watt lites
i have 1 100 watt litebulb right now...does it have any risk of doing anything negative on the car?or should i be fine...i was running 100 watts on my fogs and they both died on the same day...any tips on fixing this ???should i keep my heads?
I think you should not risk it, I've had experiences with other cars when putting higher wattage bulbs in their original housings and using the original harnesses. Either the harness or the housing itself would slowly begin to melt (especially in the summer time but that doesn't mean that you should use them in winter time). The harness would emit a foul smell and the bulb would eventually fail as the melted plastic from the harness makes contact with the connection contacts of the bulb itself. Only maybe can you try upgrading to a better harness with a higher temperature resistance, and/or getting lower watt bulbs. Still, this does not prevent melting of the housing, so either way, your best bet would be to use weaker bulbs, sorry.
i know the post is a lil old but i have 100 watt bulbs in my stock housings, and i just had to upgrade the harness, the stock wiring shows sum Minor burning i mean like minor minor minor, but that could just be heat fromt he housing, the housing is fine and i havent had any problems, but i bought plasmaglow hyperwhites
