Is your idle low when you're stopped?
Do you have an auto? Do you notice that your idle drops when you come to a complete stop and leave it in Drive?

That was happening to my 98 I30. The RPMs would drop to ~ 500 when I was at a light. I cleaned out my throttle body and that helped a bit. Adjusting the idle screw would probably help with that too.

Sounds like just a misfire problem to me. Is the Check engine light on?

mine shakes a bit too, but just alil bit, its just the idle in my car i hope, but i get low rpms at a light too around 1000, but thats normal, get it checked out i think before the problem can get worse, something doesnt seem right, and your car is only a 2000

Mine does the same thing, but it's not so severe. It also seems to only occur once the fans turn on. I've mentioned this to the dealer on several occasions, but they're never able to reproduce it. I can't really blame them though. I have trouble reproducing it myself, as it doesn't ALWAYS do it.
