Engine rpm bounces at 1700 rpm while in park
I was monitoring the air intake temp with my dyno scanner while my car was in park in the driveway (man the temp climbs fast...easily reached 110 f and was still climbing) and discovered something strange. If I hold the engine at 1700 rpm the revs would start to fluctuate between 1700 and 1500 rpm. It does not seem to do this at any other rpm range and it still oscillates when I unplug the dyno scanner. Then I find out that there is a TSB regarding a similiar situation except it occurs when the car is moving at 40-60 mph (roughly 1300 to 2000 rpm).

Now my car doesn't seem to surge at these speeds (although I do notice a slight shudder at speeds between 60 - 80 mph which I believe is due to play between the tranny bearing and axle shaft) but the engine does surge/fluctuate in park. Unfortunately it seems as if the dyno scanner I am using cannot capture the fluctuations (which occur about once per second as the TSB specifies). Man, I hope I do not have to replace the ECM as the TSB states! We all know what that entails...Dealer + $$$ + = . I'm gonna see if I can hook up my brother-in-laws oscilloscope to the TPS while the car is running to see if the voltage fluctuates..hope it does cause otherwise hello ECM. Man, I hate finding out this kinda S***! I hope this is covered under the powertrain warranty. Just venting guys.
