Foglight removal...
#3
nyc: I will email you tonight with the pictures.
From what I remember, you need to either take off or just pull back the black plastic protection that covers the engine compartment on whatever side you are working on. I believe this plastic piece is part of the wheel well plastic. (did that make sense?)
Anyway, look under the car and you will see what I mean. I ran my car up on some ramps for the fog light removal and install to give me more room to work. Once you have moved the plastic out of your way, you should be able to see the back of your fog light and your cornering light.
If I remember correctly, (and you should be able to see in the pics when I email them,) but there is one nut, that you need to unscrew, which is holding the cornering light to the frame. Once you have unscrewed that, go in front of the car, and place both hands on your cornering light and pull it towards the center of the car. The cornering light is held in place by a tab that just slides into the bumber towards the wheel well. Once the nut is off from the back, you should be able to "slide" the cornering light out. It may be tough to get it to budge, so just take a medium size flat blad screw driver put a thin cloth on the blade to protect your paint, and slide it between the cornering light and the bumper near the wheel well and pry it lose.
Once you have the cornering light out, you will be able to see the other nut that holds the fog light in place. Remove that and pull out your fog light.
It is pretty simple once you realize how they are held in there and the order that you need to take them out. You can't get to the nut for the fog light until you remove the cornering light.
NOTE: When you first get up under the car and look at the back of the fog light, you will see a few nuts. The ones painted the same color as the car are saddered onto the frame of the car. Do not try and unscrew them. LOL I spent about 30 minutes trying with no luck and was pissed when I realized it was not supposed to come off. DUH!
