I can't find any write up on the install. I am totally confused on how that works. Do you know if you need more than one and where do you plug it into. Sounds cool though!

you should try the two sided taped because i caught hell trying to get a drill into the compartment to drill holes on the driver side. the passenger side is really easy, lotta room. my driver side risitor is just sitting there, it's not secured.
oh yeah does anybody know which relay is the blinker realy? i looked in my engine bay, but nothing, nada, none of the relay say blinker, flasher, etc, etc. can some one help or do i have fry what's left of my hair figuring out this thing?

Damn, I wish I knew about that replacement flasher unit before I ordered the $9.99 load resistor. I just checked the FSMs, and both 4th gen and 5th gen FSMs show the same 3-prong "combination flasher unit" with a 27watt spec.
After searching for a while, I think that unit is located behind the steering wheel on the left (outboard) side of the steering column, near the turn signal stalk. (see page EL-30 of the 2001 Maxima FSM). You probably have to remove the cover and then you'll see it. I see the three pronged socket located there in the diagram, so I don't think it's in the engine bay. But I could be wrong, these FSM diagrams are pretty conFUSEing.
We definitely need someone to buy this from VLEDs.com and see if it works.
Also, does anybody know if I put LED bulbs just in the rear (for now), do I still need the load resistor?

Looks good Lee!!
Now...all of this discussion has me a little confused. I want to clear my headlights and front sidemarkers and add LEDs to both (amber for turn signals and hyper white for sidemarkers) I also need to replace the city light bulbs (thinking hyper white LEDs here too) and the fogs (still debating what to do here). Ok..with all of that said....do you guys still recommend the clear sidemarkers from Paradox? What about VLEDs...is that still the retailer of choice? I'm confused on the bulbs that I need as well. Are the codes for the 00 the same as the 02? Basically what I need is a bulb code list for the sidemarkers, turn signals, city lights and fogs so I can purchase the bulbs. Has anyone tried the LED flasher relay fix? that seems like the "cleanest" way to fix the hyper flashing problem. Sorry for all the questions but, like I said, I got confused reading through all the posts. Thanks!
EDIT: Ok..I found the lamp replacement guide so I no longer need the codes.

If I want to do LED turns both front and back (plus I will eventually have my LED mirror covers installed), will I need FOUR load resistors or just the two? They are 6 ohm, 50W.
Kingofsorrow, are you planning on trying the flasher unit from VLEDs? If so when? I'm eager to hear if they fit. They ought to, and that would be cheaper and easier than installing all these load resistors that get hot as h3ll.

as for your LED conversion, each lamp that has LED's will need a resistor. i'm not sure if you'll need any for the mirrors. the mirrors i have has resistors built in. so i only needed 4 resistors:
1 for the front right
1 for the front left
1 for the rear right
1 for the rear left

i recommend Paradox, i've only dealt with them and had no probs. as for the "quick flash", so far i'm using resistors, one for each turn signal ( 4 total), i want try the flasher realy but can't figure out what relay to replace. i haven't found anything in the fuse boxes that say "flasher".
Yeah man, did you read my post above? I'm almost positive the flasher unit is not in the engine bay, not under the dash, but in the steering column. If you put your hazards on, you hear that clicking noise inside the car and I believe that's the flasher unit (sounded like steering column to me). So take off that plastic cover on the column and it should be in there.
If you need further directions, I can send you the relevant pages of the FSM. Thanks!

2: I30's had chrome surrounds, except I30t's they had black surrounds. I35's have brushed aluminum colored surrounds.
3: I30's had an orange "bubble" in the turn signal section of the lamp, I30t's and I35's have a orange lens inserted in the lamp.
anything i forgot folks?

headlamps, Before & After.
Can't see the pics.. can you post again...
I'm talking about the headlamps themselves.. Mine look kinda smoked but they are HID on the low beam.. High beam seems normal...
Is there a difference in the headlamp themselves..I think I wanna do the opposite of you but can't see the detailed difference.
I saw a photo of the cefiro headlight that looked great.. are those easy to get?

Today I looked under the driver's side dash and found the flasher unit. It's easy to find: with the engine off, turn on the hazards. Then stick your head down by the brake pedal and look up. There are a bunch of plastic connectors. The large black on is the flasher unit. If you put your hand on it you can feel it clicking.
I measured and the prongs are about 16-17mm apart. After doing some research, I'm almost positive the 3-pin red/orange electronic LED flasher unit mentioned here will fit our cars. I'm going to order it from superbrightleds.com since it appears to be cheapest ($12.95). Much cheaper and easier than buying four load resistors, splice-tapping them, and having to mount them where they won't melt things.
By the way, the LED flasher unit does NOT click. I like that but if you need the clicking noise you can buy an automotive relay and wire that in.
