Grounding kit installed

Grounding kit installed
Tonight I installed the Active Tuning grounding kit (found here). The installation guide on the VQPower page was very helpful. here Being the amateur I am, the 15-20 minute job took me an hour and a half. Pretty easy for the most part, my biggest complaint is a sore back.
The VQPower site listed the benefits of this mod to be
# Stronger & Faster Starts
# More Responsive Acceleration
# Superior build quality
# Smoother Idle
# Smoother Shifting w/ Automatic Transmission.
Active Tuning went so far as to list all of these.
# Increased Horse Power & Torque
# Awesome Looks
# Faster Shifts on Automatics
# Improved Mileage
# Reduced Emissions
# Stronger & Faster Starts
# Smoother Idle
# More Responsive Acceleration
# Reduced Audio Noise
# Improved Electrical Accessory Performance (brighter lights, windows/sunroofs operate faster, better radio reception, etc.)
My experience during the test drive showed me a few of these things.
1. One thing I was looking to get from this was less dimming from the headlights when the brake is applied. This did happen. They still dim but not as much and for a smaller length of thime. Before they stayed dim as long as the brake was applied.
2. Smoother idle. Lately my idle has had a small bit of a shake, nothing major but it was noticable. Now the idle is very clean and smooth.
3. Acceleration and shifting were maybe a bit better. Was hard to tell. Seemed to be a bit less lag when the accelerator was pushed hard.
4. They do look pretty cool. If you have a dressed up engine, these will accent it nicely. I'll post pics next weekend.
5. I didn't notice a difference on the start but it is hard to say, I have a new started and haven't had any starting issues for some time.
Overall I'd say it is a useful mod for a slightly aged car such as my own. I'd recommend it.

If you want to completely emliminate the dimming, replace the alternator.
After we put a new one on my friend's 96 lemon, ALL dimming was eliminated. We even tried to do it on purpose by having the headlights on and rolling up all windows and hitting the breaks at the same time and absolutely no dimming occured.
After that, I have been contemplating dropping in a new alternator even thought the one I have works fine.
