Uhg... side mirror glass busted (driver side)
Saturday morning I had to drive to school for a makeup exam (I missed the original scheduled exam on Thursday)
While I was leaving my neighborhood, a car failed to yield behind a car on his side of the street and our side mirrors collided. My mirror folded in, but the glass cracked. I have heated mirrors.
I bought this item:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWN%3AIT
Today I peeled the broken glass off of the heated mirror pad thing.. but the pad itself was also cut so I cut the wires and removed it.
Oh well, no more driver side heated mirror!
BTW, it was his fault, but I was in a hurry to take the exam which I already missed. It was an old fat guy and he said he didn't know he had to yield. His mirror on his car was all smashed too, so I told him he is lucky that I don't have time to wait for police officers to show up and have his insurance pay for a new mirror.
Oh well, another PITA =(

Just a little update... my glass came in today. It's a Burco brand and fits perfectly, although I have not installed it yet.
I called the closest local glass shop and they charged $45 for the Burco heating element (model 3801). That sounded a little pricey, so I called the next glass shop and they charge $11 for the exact same part. Looks like I'll have my heated glass back =)
