Spoiler question for 4th Gen I30t owners

If your I30 came with a factory spoiler, I need to know its location on the trunk in terms of offsets from the back and sides of the trunk (when partially opened).

So, would you please take a tape and measure the following distances in inches:

1. Find the midpoint on the spoiler by measuring the width of the trunk directly behind the spoiler's base and dividing it by two.

2. Measure the distance from the back edge of the trunk to the midpoint.

Once I have those two measurements, I can verify the correct position.

Thanks.

Since the rear part of the trunk is rounded which means ill give you a crappy measurement. I measured 470mm from front of trunklid to end of spoiler (middle part). 160mm is the width of the spoiler at the middle.

Actually, I meant the same place; i.e, the "front" of the trunk lid or edge furthest away from the spoiler.

Thanks.

BTW, when you said, "to the end of the spoiler (middle part)" do you mean to a point on the wing itself -- on the brake light side of the wing?"

Unlike the Maxima spoiler which has a center pedestal, the I30t spoiler has a pedestal on either end, so the only place one can take a measurement at the middle would be at either the front or back of the wing itself.

end of spoiler= end of wing itself. I don't even take notice the light
Honestly, I think a measurement form the base(where it attaches to trunk) to the front trunklid corner would be much easier to align for you.

True. It might be easier, but for what I have in mind, only one measurement that aligns trunk middle to spoiler middle will be necessary, at first.

I want to position the spoiler a little more to the stern than OEM. Using a T-square, I'll measure a perpendicular line from the middle of the trunk lid edge to the middle of the spoiler.

After I align the spoiler middle to the trunk middle, I can then slide the spoiler back and forth along that line until the curves on the outside wing edges most closely align themselves above the left and right edges of the trunk.

Then, I'll measure the spaces between the outside trunk edges and the spoiler base edges, and if they are different, then I'll move the spoiler left-and right until they do.

Here's what I think would be easiest:
1. draw a line down the middle of the trunklid(dividing it into symmetric halves) and one down the spoiler(on masking tape of course). <---- takes care of side to side unevenness
2. draw a ruler along the edge of the trunklid. <---- takes care of having the wrong angle

That's basically what I had asked for someone to do since I do not have a factory-installed spoiler.
