Reliability

This year I decided to keep track of all my repairs I do on the car. I looked today and was actually shocked how much I spent on repairs just this year.

181025 - Changed motor oil/filter, changed transmission fluid (01/07/16).

181200 - Right lower control arm ($115), Right CV Axle ($95), Oil filter housing O-ring and mount bolt ($7) = labor $310 = total $561.26(01/14/16).

181548 - Tire rotation and rebalance (02/09/16)

183100 - Water pump, thermostat, thermostat housing, metal pipe gasket, chain tensioner replacement. $300 parts $300 laber = total $600 (06/12/16)

183110 - Right side engine mount replacement. Mount OEM $70. Done myself. (06/22/16)

Seems pretty expensive to maintain my infiniti nowadays Now for some reason once in awhile I have 8 flashes check a/t light when I start the car. No idea what's wrong with that, my fluid level is good. Looks like it's time to another car.

How is your car doing? What mileage you have?

well dont feel bad ive had to spend about $1000 in repairs myself. My exhaust was the most expensive at about $800 with parts and labor with will only be one time because now i have new bolts instead of rusted ones. I needed new tires, oil change, coils, front control arm and struts, and engine mounts. But im not complaining because im at 195,000 miles. I only paid $1300 for the car, and can do most of the repairs myself when i have the time So look at that as much cheaper than having a car payment every month.

You have to realize that things don't last forever and will wear out. After 14 years and 180,000 + miles, you have to do some maintenance. The only things I see in the list that are not normal maintenance are the engine mounts.

If this is not to your liking, then buy a new car and replace it after 75,000 miles.
