There are issues with burning oil and damaged catalytic converters. The 4 speed auto is pretty good.

Around my area rust kills them first.

Yeah I had to fix the radiator support because of rust.

I have 165,000 miles on my 2003 I35. Due to its age, I have replaced the major components over the years - alternator, coil packs, radiator, AC compressor, suspension parts etc. I enjoy working on my car. So my car runs very well with no issues what so ever. Like someone mentioned, the engines do burn oil. So I do keep an eye on the oil level on a weekly basis. Topping it off periodically. That is the only issue that I am dealing with. But it has been like that for a very long time..

165,000 nice! Right behind you with 155,000 just was wondering about how many miles you can get out of one of these without some super major stuff like trans or motor.

33,000 on mine, bought it from my Mom for $3000. It will be my daughters car when she starts to drive.

Replaced O2 sensor, ABS sensor rear pads and rotors, along with the left rear caliper so far. Rear struts are next.

About 242,000 miles on my 02 I35. I've had it for just about 4 or 5 months now and it's been good, needed a lot of work typical for the age though, motor mounts and various suspension components. I've also done little things like replace clock bulbs and added felt tape to a few interior pieces to reduce minor noise with mixed results. Other than that, seems to run pretty strong (though the transmission may be getting a bit hot if I run around the city for long and start-stop the engine constantly.)
