2004 I35 burning oil ridiculously

I have a 04 with 162k. Having an oil burning issue what can I do to fix this problem for good. It’s making me consider selling it but it’s a great car. I put some wheels on it and cleaned it up

My 2003 I35 has 185,000 miles. It has been burning oil for a long time. It is common in these cars. I just check my oil every time I gas up and top off the oil if necessary.

How much oil are you burning?

My son's 2003 I35 with 130K burns about 3/4 of a QT of oil every 250 miles. No smoke from tailpipe, no CEL, no Valve Cover leaks.

Running Penzoil 10W-40 traditional oil and we installed a ADDW1 catch can and new OEM PCV valve.

Besides that, there isn't much you can do. The only true fix is to swap in a newer engine.

How long have you been adding oil? Any CEL or issues with a clogged-up cat?

I have been adding oil for a long time probably the last 100,000 miles. It hasn’t too bad. I add about 1/2 quart every 500 miles or so.

I have no CEL.

Went ahead and changed plugs with ngk iridium’s, 6 reman injectors, and coils it feels smoother but I think I need a motor mount when shifting it’s harsh.

That's commendable! Any emissions-related issues from oil consumption for the past 100K? such as fouled plugs, clogged cat, CEL?

No emissions related issues at all. I had to deal with timing chain noise due to broken chain guide a couple of years ago. Once it was fixed, car runs great. For sure, I will reach 200,000 miles soon.

You could always try to add some Marvel Mystery Oil to both the oil and fuel at the recommended concentrations for a while and see if it helps. It can help with sticky rings.

try this oil, you will only need 4.2 quarts
AMSOIL
it is rugged, I use it and it is not a cure all but should hopefully cut down oil consumption. The oil some oil change places use is good but I noticed does not resists oil consumption and this has happened in several vehicles I have owned and noticed an improvement when getting a better oil.
