NJ - For Sale: 2003 Black SE 6-Speed
This is a very clean car. Interior is perfect and is grey cloth. Body is in great shape, no rust. Everything works as it should.
Now for the issues:
1. Tranny works fine except it won't move into 6th. Seems like something blocking it. Seems mechanical in nature.
2. Engine - I had issues with ignition coils misfiring and one day I was driving normal speed, downshifted from 5th to 4th at a normal rate of speed and poof.. smoke and engine died. Had it towed home. It still starts and will run but probably only on a few cylinders. No power at all, can't be driven as is.
3. Couple of dimples in hood.
4. Needs muffler replaced.
5. Shocks should be replaced.
6. I took the original 17" wheels off and put them on my 1997 so it has the 16" stock wheels from the 1997 but tires are good.
Other than those issues, is in very good shape. I think mileage is around 135k.
The price? Best offer over $1000.00. I want it moved out of my driveway. I'll even throw in the Budgie car cover. You will have to come to my location in Piscataway, NJ with a flatbed to get it.
Need to get rid of it because I just got a 2016 SR replacement with the Premium Ascot Leather-appointed Seats with Diamond-Quilted Alcantara® Inserts and it's Bordeaux Black on the exterior. :-)
I will provide pics of the 2003 to anyone interested as soon as it stops pouring rain here and I can get out there to take pics. I'll even take video of it running, etc.
I look forward to hearing from my Maxima loving brothers! :-)

You want $1000 for a car that needs a motor and a tranny?? More than likely you have a decent parts car on your hands. You may want to reach out to a local junkyard to see if they'll give you a couple hundred bucks for it. Either way, good luck!

Thanks.
To be clear, the Transmission (6-speed manual) works fine. The Shift lever will not move into 6th gear however. It's like there's something in the linkage blocking it. I don't think there's a problem with the transmission itself. Might just be some linkage issue but I don't know. It shifts into 1-5 and reverse just fine.
The car is immaculate other than what I stated. I think $1000 for a 2003 in great shape and no rust with an immaculate interior and everything else working fine is reasonable. But then, this was my baby until the coils went. Like I said, it still starts but definitely needs all new coils and who knows what else. I checked out rebuilt engines and you can get them shipped and guaranteed for $1750.00 for a 3.5.
At any rate, I can understand if somebody just wants a working vehicle. I posted here because I figured somebody might want to buy a vehicle to modify from the ground up.
