Note the 2 people facing wearing them:

Some people wore their Org shirts and had their names on the back!
Note the guy wearing the 6thGenMaximas shirt (I had one also in Red).

And some people wore custom shirts
Maxus 09 had 189 cars at the track. official count of cars that paid at the track. although some people showed up at the end of the track day. so really there were 200 cars last year. Also the NY crew only came with about 30 last year. I have had redlinemax meets in NY with 200 cars. so with all that we are putting into this one we should get quite a few more than that.
I dont know if you saw the staff badges last year. This year I'm working on getting those for all that pre-register
I'm seeing all these people at the Olympics on TV with big laminated passes hanging around their necks with lanyards. Or here's another idea: have a T-Shirt made up that's not too loud.
It's so-o-o hard to think about this idea in a way that isn't geeky. But then again, we're all Maxima Geeks anyway, so maybe whatever anyone does gets a free pass.
Maybe it will be like a Star Trek convention, and all the really cool Org members will be dressed as Klingons. (kidding... just kidding.)

Those "staff" badges were very nice. Super professional. And the t-shirts were tasteful.
You know, I was just thinking how that made no sense, and logged on just now to correct it. But you beat me to it, Nalc. I meant to say I was too new to the Org last summer, and didn't go to Maxus09.
Would that I had, I would have snagged one of Aaron's Torque Link Connectors at his intro price.

The 09 shirts were awesome, and nicely done. I still wear mine, although it didn't fare too well after a few washes.
The name tags could be simple or done up. If you wanted to have the Maxus logo on them, you could grab some Avery plan name tags and print the logo onto them.
Rochester, why does it feel like you've been around for longer? Not a bad thing, maybe it's your post count, haha.

Probably because I'm old, or because I like to write.Whatever the reason, I must say I've been enjoying this forum. With Maxus2010 right around the corner I've got 4 months to turn into an overweight, 25 year old Latino. Working hard on the first part...

LOL!! Yeah last year was definately a blast, but this year I def agree with RedMax.. I realistically expect to see DOUBLE the amount of people as last year. Hell, NYCMaximas throw a BBQ meet and get a couple hundred cars showing up.. should be EPIC!
Hey Corey/webmaster, I don't mean to be a d1ck, but I couldn't help but notice you basically just copied the history of Maxus article I wrote for 2009 and used it again for 2010 without giving me any credit. Please give credit where credit is due. Thank you. Hope to see you there!

It SUCKED!!!!Only thing its saving it(barely),its that the guys can runs each other on the track...To start,u travel to the boondocks, once u get there,$20 a HEAD.YES $20 per head in ur car. Then,u get lit up at the stands if ur thirsty or need sum grub.I only noticed 2 vendors there.....If this is Maxus 2010 in NYC,why we going to bubble **** NJ,almost a bit more and we in PA.Maybe we should of done PA and gotten a REAL track. The food vendors raped us with wack *** food and nasty *** soda. But,whatever, the guys who set this up did what they could. Its a shame Maxus IS a fail here in NYC.Something was telling me,dont drive my *** down there for this, but,ITS Maxus. It was cool watching 3 or 4 5th gens open up on all maxus that lined up.Even on a boosted 350Z.Actually,tow 5th gens where handing out L's to all that lined up.Good for u two guys,it was fun watching yall do it.
too bad i did most of the event for 09 too and let him have all the credit! so if the event sucked it was because ppl didnt show up like they said they would

DUDE,ur car is SWEET.Really nice man.Good stuff...
Issues :
Price. it keeps going up. $40 to participate in the show? That was a little excessive.
The NYC people. AGAIN the event moved closer to NYC in the hopes of bringing out a large NYC crowd. yes, there were significantly more NYC people today than there were in 2009. But not enough. I don't know if they just didn't want to drive an hour, or if they were busy, or if there really aren't as many as we think. I estimated a 125 car turnout this year, versus what, 170 for last year? Again, the excuse is to have it actually in NYC, and not in the area around it. Uhm, where is there a racetrack? The closest one I can think of is Englishtown, which is only marginally closer to NYC, and probably far more expensive to book for a day.
I'll probably get some disagreement for this suggestion, but I'll throw it out there - separate the racing from the car show.
I'd estimate that only one out of four cars actually raced. But all of us had to pay for it, both in terms of money and convenience. We're in a tough spot in that we're not big enough to really justify renting out an entire track, so we have to stretch the funds in order to do so. $20 to enter per person, and $20 per car in the show? And it was like 50-60 miles away from NYC?
If the two events are separate, a MUCH more convenient location could be found, at a much cheaper cost. Rent out one of the parking lots near Giants Stadium. They're not playing in June, it's much closer to NYC, and you could probably rent out just the parking lot for way cheaper. Most people didn't race, either because they don't have competitive cars or because they had mechanical issues or because they were worried about breaking something.
Re: the food issue, rent a big propane grill and offer food at realistic costs. Also get several of those big 5 gallon water jugs they have at sporting events.
Try to get the cost down to under $20 per car, and have it just be the show, and don't make people pay extra to compete in the show.
Then, for the racing, try to work out a deal for some Friday night and/or Saturday night track time, just for the people who want to race. And without exclusive track access like we had. Try to get more Nissan and Infiniti clubs on board for the race. There is a lot of downtime when figuring out brackets or making car adjustments. IIRC, the racetrack was actually in use for less than half the day. With lots more Nissan/Infiniti people, you could keep the track running for hours, and subsidize the costs further.
That way, the people going solely for the show don't have to pay extra and drive farther to get onto a track so they can just hang out in the parking lot. And the cars who want to race can still compete in the show (most didn't because they were too busy racing).
TL
R - Separate the show and the racing. Open racing up to all Nissan and Infiniti cars to split the costs. Don't make people who are going just for the show pay extra and drive further just because 1/4th of the people want to race. Then have the main show event in a parking lot or park, much closer to NYC itself, and reduce the cost somewhat ($15-20?), and encourage food/grilling/tailgating - like a traditional BBQ meet, except with judging and awards and a lot more cars.
