fog lights in 95 GXE
fog lights in 95 GXE
im new to the site, i have a 95 GXE and i want to put stock fog lights like the ones that come in the SE. should i buy the fog lights from this site... http://www.nissan-car-body-parts.com...s/process.html and if i do, should i also buy a bumper with the holes for the fog lights or can i cut the whole in my bumper? you think this will work?
Re: fog lights in 95 GXE
you can cut a whole in the bumper, just cut out the space where the lights are supposed to be (the rigged square parts) and then wire them up...however, since your car didnt come with fog lights, your going to have to get a switch for them. I didnt order factory fog lights, i bought some aftermarket ones and mounted them in my bottom grill, it looks good, then i ordered the factory switch for the fogs (the little toggle switch on the steering column next to the headlights) it was $200 to get the switch and install it. considering that the factory fogs are much more expensive than what i bought, i dont know if you would want to go the same way for wiring them as i did. but all the wiring is already in the car for fogs. hope this helped a bit.

I've added factory fogs

I added factory SE fogs to my 95 GLE, check my homepage for more photos.
I ordered the kit from nissan (Courtesy Nissan, can't recall the price, about $90 I think). Comes with instructions on how to install. Use a very sharp knife for a clean cut. You can touch up the cut with touch up paint instead of using the black surrounds it come with. It comes with a template for the cutting (OE factory kit does). But, I paid to have it done, by Nissan ($92 labor).
maximadriver.com may have step by step instructions to do this. And the Max is prewired for fogs. The OE kit comes with a new headlamp stalk with he built in fog switch as well.
