Sqeaky belts?

At first whenever i would start my car , and if the engine was cold i would hear a sqeaking noise comin from the engine, i opened the hood and could tell right away it was coming from the belts. But now it doesnt matter if the engine is warmed up or not, it always is speaking and it is really loud and embarrasing comin from this car. Anyone know what is possibly the problem??

Your belts are too loose. I wrote an instruction for installing an underdrive pulley in the "Installation Instructions/How to's" post that includes belt adjustment.

belt dressing

a $1.99 belt dressing can from Autozone also help. You can spray the dressing to the part of the belt that you can see when you open up the enginee compartment. It is on your left as you are looking at the enginee.

Just don't go too long before tighten the drive belt.

here's another possibility...

when was the last time the belts were replaced? since you stated you don't have an underdrive pulley, they probably weren't touched since you purchased the car. if that's so, you could inspect for cracking or any other signs of obvious wear. if it needs to be replaced, just replace it and do it quickly. there's nothing more inconvenient than having your belts snap while you're driving. believe me, i know. hope that helped!

I got this problem fixed a while ago, I had a warped powersteering pulley , you could see the pulley was completely ****eyed and wobbling as it was turning causing the belts to rub on the side of pulley. Fixed under my extended warranty
