a'pexi S-AFC helps u pass smog test???

my friend with a GSR said he passed the smog test with V-AFC. he tuned down the fuel ratio etc... u think the max can do it with S-AFC?

If he was running super rich then leaning it out would make less fuel go through. So I guess theoretically, yes

But on our cars the ecu resets if you set the high to anything lower then 50% I believe. I dunno if during a inspection they give that much throttle?

Wow!! Never really considered that. That's all the more reason to get an S-Afc

since in my state, NC, the state inspections are done through the OBDII system and don't even do a sniffer test anymore, i don't think that it could help in my case

It might. But if you car is na and you can't pass smog, then there's something seriously wrong with your car to start with. The safc would just be a bandaid fix. Not the real way to good emissions or real hp.

In some cases when we get a car with too many miles, that was poorly maintained ans has alot of carbon buildup, it is harder to get it too pass. If you fail by just s little bit, even an oil change and coolant flush alone could easily help you pass. Today we mad a 92 Ford truck pass but doing a oilchange and retarding the timing 6 degrees, then after it passed returned it back to normal Messing with the timing that much isnt a good idea for the max. for what Jeff said, but sometimes you gotta do it.
