i was wondering how do they break into trunk? i was thinking about shaving trunk key hole. is it hard/possible to break those trunk key hole and open the trunk?

after shaving your trunk, i dont think any crook is going to spent their time trying to pry your trunk unless the crook knows what you got!!! but then youll be suprise with some crooks!@

 

If they can't get into your trunk that way, I think thier next step would be to break the window and try to open it by using the trunk release lever. That's why you should keep the lever locked(if you're equipted with that option), most people don't lock it.

You guys have key holes for your trunk?

 

They broke into my trunk in NYC in broad daylight on a busy intersection! They used a screwdriver & destroyed the keyhole in the process. The idiot, ruined my locks but didn't steal my amp! If you have a license plate from another state and you park in NYC, they think you have money/clothes in the trunk & pop it & steal stuff & run...

My advice: If you have expensive equipment back there... shave it, or buy one of those trick-key APC doorlocks from Pepboys.

BAck when I had my Toyota Celica. My trunk was broken into and the lock was pulled clean out, left the hole there. I had no choice then but to shave the trunk. It was either that or pay for a new lock.
