I have SC whine, but no SC.....Help!
Well, yesterday morning I was driving around, and I stopped at a stoplight. I heard a whining sound coming from my engine, but it was only there when I was idling. If I gave it a little gas, it went away. Last night I heard the noise again, so I don't think it's going away. The car is driving normally apart from that. Any ideas guys? I'm guessing it has something to do with a belt or something.....
I had my alternator replaced a few months ago, so I don't think it's that. I like how I didn't get ONE notification about this thread....I had to find it and see. How should I pinpoint the problem?
i had the same problem on my 95 i just changed the belts and it was fine i think they got to tight not sure but check your belts. after awhile if u dont change them you will hear that noise at idol and when your driving.

I had the SAME EXACT PROBLEM. I crawled underneath and figured out that the deflection was off in the belts(one more than the other). I adjusted the idler pulley tensioner and viola, problem solved
