2000 Grand Prix GT???

I've got a few questions about a grand prix gt. its 100% stock, and auto. I've got a hacked air box, magnaflow muffler, and my DR mod. Is there any reason why I should, or would lose to this guy? I tore a cavalier z24 a new one tonight...it wasnt even funny. He was talkin trash at school, and i beat him by 3 car lengths and slowed down before it got any worse. But anyways, the grand prix gt is friends with the z24 and wants to put 20 bucks or more down on the race. Those gt's have 200 hp and 225 lb ft of torque...anyones thoughts?

It would be VERY close... They GT's run probably run mid 15's at 89-90 mph stock. That would probably be your time as well? Depends on where you guys race to... if its to the 1/8, then the GT probably has the advantage from more tq, but at highway speeds, you would probably win. But its damn close... better practice your launches

yeah, my best time according to the g tech was 15.55 @ 91.9 mph. My best 0-60 has been 7.16. So I'm not sure, I havent found any stat numbers on a grand prix gt anywhere

there you go. HAVE FUN... just make sure that its a GT, and NOT a GTP. if its a GTP... you're toast... those things can be made to go FAST.

I can take a stock GTP with my max (intake and y-pipe), I took supercharged bonevilles (when I was stock) by a car and car an half. Just don't give up when you get taken in the bottom of the second gear, keep it pushing. By the top of 2nd you are going to be at least even, and when you go in third you will start pulling.

GTs should be a piece of cake.

LOL and the cavalier thing is funny

Alright, sounds good enough. My car is real strong pullin into 2nd gear, so I'm not really worried, especially with my DR mod. Maybe I should wait another 2-3 weeks to race him...by then ill have my y pipe installed. I dunno, we'll see what he says or wants to do.

yea, you can proabably take the stock gtp, and DEFINATELY the s/c bonnevilles... those things are SLOW, because they are so damn heavy. they run mid 15's as well. A well launched stock gtp can get to the mid 14's, and the same for 5 speed I/Y maxima. now if that was a I/Y auto max , i would almost call BS. but its the streets, so anything can happen

hey man, i was just asking for some others opinions. i didnt mean to offend you or tick you off, but if you aren't interested in this topic, dont post man. not to be an a$$, but thats just how i see it. If we race, it's more than likely going to be at a drag strip not too far from here.

i dont see any others getting slack when talking about racing a contour svt or a svt focus at the stoplights...or a guy asking about how he would do against a ford probe gt. i dont understand it

....Don't post **** like that in here. If you want to know how your car will perform in the 1/4 mile against another car at the Track you can discuss it in the 1/4 mile forum...but the mods in there don't like that stuff either. If you really want to know then go to the track and race. We allow some street racing stories on the weekends only, and that is if they are in good taste. Those threads get locked monday...Today is Tuesday. Maxima.org does not like to be full of useless street racing threads like this one. We try and keep a informative community with the least amount of BS posts as possible.

Take it to the track and then come back with slips and a story of how your slow car beat your friends slow car.

First thing is that you're telling a moderator not to look into this thread. Not a good idea. Second, this belongs in Off-topic. Third, I'm closing the thread.
